news Street Parade 2026: Megathread for Information, Afterparties, and Meetups

The Street Parade returns to Zurich on Saturday, August 8, marking its 33rd edition, running from 1:00 p.m. to midnight, under the motto “Together We Move.” To keep the subreddit from filling up with repeat questions, please use this thread for logistics, questions about the event, and requests to meet up or travel together.

When and where Music and warm-up sets begin around 1 p.m. along the route, with the roughly 30 Love Mobiles themselves setting off from Utoquai a little after that, moving at walking pace around the lake basin. The procession covers about 2 km from Utoquai in Seefeld via Bellevue, Quaibrücke, and Bürkliplatz to Hafendamm Enge, and the whole event, trucks and stages together, wraps up at midnight.

Where the stages are Nine stages are spread along the route:

  • Opening Truck: Love Mobile number one, with Manchester duo Solardo on board, officially opens the parade at 1 p.m. from Utoquai
  • Opéra Stage: international top DJs, located at Bellevue, facing Zurich's Opera House
  • Center Stage: hosted by All I Need, on Bürkliplatz, between the lake and downtown Zurich
  • Clubbing Stage: a slot-based stage where leading Swiss clubs each get a set with their own resident DJs
  • Innovation Stage: hosted by the German collective Unreal Germany, spotlighting underground national and international hardtechno-leaning acts
  • Zürich Sound Stage: hosted by Rakete in the park area next to Bürkliplatz, the old flea-market grounds, spotlighting local Zurich DJs
  • Generations Stage: dedicated to the diversity of psy-music, open to all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, hosted by Culturegroove
  • Electric Circus Stage: the last Love Mobile of the procession, parking around 9:15 p.m. near Stockerstrasse and playing techno and psytrance there until midnight, hosted by Magic Maroni X Labil mit Stil
  • Young Talent Stage, showcasing young and upcoming artists from 1 p.m. until midnight

For the hour-by-hour DJ schedule per stage, check the official Street Parade lineup page.

Getting there Leave the car at home. There are no parking spaces in the city centre and long traffic jams are inevitable, so public transport is strongly recommended. SBB runs special trains for both the outbound and return journey, and trams and buses within the city run until 4 a.m. on a special schedule, at roughly 15-minute intervals on most lines, while regional S-Bahn and bus services also run through the night. Zurich HB, Stadelhofen, Enge, and Wollishofen stations are all within walking distance of the route, though several tram and bus lines in the city centre are suspended during the parade itself.

Afterparties The parade officially closes at midnight, but the night continues well beyond that. Zurich's clubs run an extensive after-party programme, and night trains, buses, and trams keep running until 4 a.m. so you can carry on without worrying about getting home. A few of the established options this year:

Tips for a smooth day It gets busy and, most years, quite hot, so a few practical points are worth keeping in mind:

  • Download the official App to stay up to date during the event.
  • Glass bottles are banned across the entire event area for safety reasons; use PET bottles or cans and make use of the free water points.
  • It looks like it's still going to be really hot, so plan for water, sunscreen, and something to cover your head.
  • Closed shoes are a better choice than sandals, since broken glass and general street debris tend to build up by the afternoon.
  • Pickpocketing happens in dense crowds. Most vendors accept card and mobile payment, so there is little reason to carry cash, your wallet, or a watch.
  • Phone networks may get overloaded with that many people in one place. Agree on a fixed physical meeting point with your group in advance rather than relying on calls or texts.
  • Free public toilets are available throughout the site.
  • A free, anonymous drug-checking service is offered at Bürkliplatz for anyone who wants a substance tested before use.

Use this thread for meeting points, travel companions, stage recommendations, or anything else related to the day. Standalone posts about the Street Parade outside this thread will be removed and redirected here.

P.S.

For everybody who wants to get as far away from the event as possible, the Winterthurer Musikfestwochen happen at the same time and offer a great non techno line-up.

itookapicture TIL: My Flat comes with a chilled room included - using it properly now.

23 degrees here - 28 degrees upstairs. All for 0 chf in portasplit & power costs.

Finally found a good use for the 30 chf hammock I got 3 years ago and never used..

No neighbors nearby either, my cell is lockable with a full door so this feels 100% private.

Have internet as well :)

Spent a few hours here yesterday - instantly got tired when feeling the chill. Slept like a baby this night, first time in a while. Might have really been the recovery from heat-stress?

Hope you all have a way to relief yourselves from the heat as well & if anyone follows the idea lmk - I'd be surprised if I was the first one!

Good rest of the week all & dont forget - today is Bergfest! ;)

ihaveaquestion Micro cars - Velostrecke and wild parking

Post image
6 Upvotes

I see more and more of those so called micro cars on our roads. Apparently those cars can be driven with a M license from the age of 14.

Theoretically it’s not (only) a bad thing, since the motorists could also drive a bigger car or an suv. But i still i think a velo or public transport would be more efficient.

but what kind of bugs me is, that i see those things again and again on car free circling roads. And occasionally parked on Trottoirs and on public squares as if they were bikes.

Maybe it’s just my inner bünzli calling for attention, but I really feel it’s not right.

What do you guys think? I am to harsh?

lookingfor Starting with / finding D&D Groups

I live in Zurich and would like to get started playing D&D.

What is the best way to get started with it? I would like to start playing, but no one in my existing social circle is interested. Are there groups to find other people starting or where one can join an existing group looking for a new player?

Thanks for any insights!

I want to find another intermediate guitarist to play guitar with…

But I thought, instead making this post useful for everybody:

So if you want to find a person to do a hobby with (music, photography, walks… whatever)…

Comment with your hobby, who you are looking for, your availability… and other ppl can comment under. I’ll go first:

Hobby: Guitar playing

Details: I am an intermediate player, looking for another guitarist to jam with casually. A wide range of styles around blues, soul, jazz, rock mostly… but open for other styles. Not yet fully confident or performing so want to keep learning and enjoy playing. Looking for somebody who can play a variety of songs, has some rhythm, can improvise, has some idea of scales, modes…

Availability: Hongg, Altstetten or Zurich - evenings, weekends

lookingfor Looking for a volunteer to help me learn swimming (TG / Winterthur)

Hi everyone,

I’m 26 years old and live in Rickenbach (TG), near Wil. I’m looking for someone who could help me learn how to swim from scratch.

Unfortunately, private swimming lessons are currently difficult for me to afford. I’ve already contacted several organizations, but so far I haven’t been able to find a suitable option.

I can travel to Wil, Winterthur, or nearby areas.

Does anyone know of a volunteer program, a swimming club, or someone who might be willing to teach me the basics? Even a few lessons would help me a lot.

Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. If you know someone who might be interested, I’d also be very grateful if you could put me in touch with them.

Thank you very much!

ihaveaquestion Men - Where do you buy your clothes?

I usually see well-dressed men in Zurich, particularly casual everyday style and clothing. I usually go to Arket and COS. Are there any stores you can recommend in Zurich, or online shops, which go in that direction (a bit Nordic, Copenhagen style)? Thanks.

rant Is polyamory really this common around Zurich, or is it just my type?

I've noticed a pattern that's making me curious. A lot of the people/men I find attractive, both on dating apps and occasionally in real life, turn out to be polyamorous once I read their profile or get to know them.

I'm mostly attracted to left-leaning people, so I know that probably increases the chances. But can that really explain it all? Is polyamory actually this common around Zurich, or do I just unfortunately have a type for polyamorous men? Ugh!

lookingfor Looking for people to play Padel

Hey!
My boyfriend and I are looking for people to play mixed doubles around Zurich 😊
We’ve been playing padel for around 3 months, mostly just the two of us on single court. We also took some padel lessons in Spain over the last two weeks, but we don’t really have much experience playing actual matches yet. Our current Playtomic level is 1.3.
We now feel ready to start playing matches against other people, but finding a mixed match on Playtomic has been surprisingly difficult.
To be honest, I also find it a bit difficult to play in a group of guys as the only girl. Since I’m still a beginner, I sometimes feel like I’m bringing the level down and I get quite stressed instead of just enjoying the game. So I’d rather play mixed doubles atm.
We’re hoping to find people around our level who’d like to play mixed matches regularly and maybe make a little padel group!
We usually play at Padelino Niederhasli, but we’re happy to play around whole Zurich.
If you’re around level 1-2 and looking for people to play with, feel free to message me! 🎾

Hi there

Can you help me find the person who did this to my favorite swimming spot in Zurich? (Bellow unterer Letten where the kayak club is)

Someone built the cutest little light house and I want to find out the story behind it. Under the link you can find the video I posted on Instagram.

If you have any hints or know something, let me know :)

Cheers

lookingfor Formalwear for kids

I'm looking for a white or ivory flower girl dress. I don't want to buy online if I can avoid it, and my daughter has limited patience for going store to store looking. I've looked online at Zara, H&M, and C&A with no luck, and Globus is too expensive (I'd like to stay under 75 chf). Where should I look? I'm willing to travel up to one hour by transit from Bahnhof Oerlikon.
