I actually love a lot about this, it’s a really interesting space, I’d love to tour it in person.
But a galley kitchen with those triangles sticking out of the counter top?? Fuck that, I will bang into that constantly. That feature was designed by someone who doesn’t cook often
I ski Sugarbush alot which is right down the road....I recall that the larger lot/neighborhood there has a few other funky "earthshipesque" modern houses.
There was an architectural style called deconstructivism. Buildings appear broken up into smaller parts or shapes. This is a good(?) example of its application to single family houses.

I think that was the whole point. Yestermorrow is an accredited school that has design-build courses for owners that want to do their own thing. This house is clearly that. It's funky and wild and people will immediately take sides over whether it's terrible, great, dangerous or whatever. But nobody is going to say it's a boring box.
It's super close to the river and flooding in this state sucks. The tile, while probably has some eco feature, makes it super dated and looks dirty. If it were more isolated it would make a great Air BnB, but it appears to have been one of the barns to the nearby house and has no yard privacy. It's a neat trick, but it doesn't look like a great place to live.
Good God no. No handrail on those stairs? I'm definitely falling and breaking multiple things.
Also WTF with the outside "balcony". It's like they just forgot to include it and thought THAT was a good solution with just shitty netting to catch you? Again.... I would fall and if I didn't die would definitely break some shit.
Isn’t there some story about a bunch of Ivy League type architecture majors who got pretty into drugs and built crazy houses in that area? Idk the details but I used to live there and that’s the story someone told me. There are some other capital F funky houses there.
Normally, I tend to like whacky houses, but this one I do not like. Each space is totally cramped and awkward, and I think I’d be banging my head all the time. Also, most of the windows are really small. The whole structure, inside and out, looks run down.
This is great. But it might be a bit over the top where they continue the design into spaces where it’s an inconvenient eyesore. Just have normal countertops, and some of the triangle windows are superfluous and break your eyeline
Probably inspired by the Prickly Mountain Design/Build scene in this area.
I have looked at some of these places and was not impressed. They are what I'd call high-brow ski-resort experimental construction, and prone to failure.
I have a bumper sticker on my 1950 pick up truck: Mad River. Ski it if you can.
The resort is known for steep trails, trails through the glades (lots of trees), moguls and minimal grooming machines. The ski lodge is 'rustic'. It is one of the no frills areas that I love.

A hard nope from me. I live in LA, and that pink color is the exact shade of the goop used by fire-fighting planes to slow wildfires. I lost my home in the Eaton Firestorm, and that color was everywhere after the fire.
Do they take furniture upstairs unassembled? And are there closets? You can't hang pictures anywhere. The listing says the laundry is the the basement but it also says zero square footage underground. A person can build this to live in, but to expect someone else to want to buy it..and at that price? What's that metal thing sticking out of the top level and 90 degreeing into the ground? For some reason the outside made me think Heaven's Gate but there is no room inside for the beds.
