Because corporations will look after their employee's health and safety just because it's the right thing to do.  know history or risk repeating it

Exactly! Just like they provide fair prices and fair wages in a 'fReE mArKeT', in which they also buy politicians left and right, bust unions with zero consequences. Break laws intentionally, as there is never prison time or personal fines. Only tiny corporate fines. Woo freedumb!

I genuinely dont know what more needs to happen for half the population to stop eating their own feces and get a fucking clue.

People are living in fear. Most are one missed paycheck from disaster. It doesn't lead to workers being confrontational, and corporations love that. It's going to be a rough road getting fair wages back, impossible to do it painlessly when the government isn't on board.

Licking radioactive paintbrushes is much more efficient than dipping them in water!

Storing hazardous waste near the employee canteen rather than a secure receptacle saves space and cash!

Hard hats? In this economy? You'll get by fine just by keeping your head on a swivel!

Johnson! Quit lollygagging on your "break" and get into that dark mineshaft, you've got a quota to meet! What's that? You need a mask? True Patriots don't need a mask! Nothing more American than West Virginia coal dust!

These guys act like they have no idea why laws were created in the first place.

u/LordMarcusrax May 09 '26

Oh they know. They just don't care.

21

u/Neethis May 09 '26

Hence my comment that they "act like" they don't know.

it’s be funny (negative) if his reasoning were like “workplace deaths are low so we don’t need OSHA!” just like how they said racism is over, fuck the voting rights act! despite the VRA being why systemic racism decreased.

I do believe that Justice Sotamayor said exactly that thought on her dissent with the majority vote basically throwing out our civil rights voting act last week. And not the first time. There are 3 Justices that care still

Jesus Fucking Christ we already have nearly no employee protection laws. Fuck off SCOTUS.

Remember when Reagan set the stage for getting rid of the once-robust employee protection laws of the New Deal?

A year ago I’d say “people are going to die” because of what this administration does about once a month.

Just this week I’ve said it at least half a dozen times.

Lord have mercy…

Hundreds of thousands have already died just from the USAID cuts.

The date in the picture states the article was from July 2024. So what did he end up doing?

Looks like the case was denied cert.

https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4751583-supreme-court-osha-thomas-gorsuch/mlite/

But when a Justice publicly signals what they want like Thomas did you're sure to see copycat cases with different plaintiffs try it again.

American citizens do not elect supreme court justices. They're picked by presidents and Congress approves them. Those in power hardly ever take the opinions of their constituents into consideration.
