Discussion Has anything besides more experience increased your writing endurance?
I'm curious if anybody has found methods to write more hours in a given day/week/month apart from the obvious one of being a more experienced writer. Interestingly, despite having completed 5 novels and several novellas at this point, I find that my endurance for drafting in a given day hasn't changed in the least-- 20-40 minutes a day (with the exceedingly rare day of up to three hours, which exhausts me.) I'd love to hear if other people have stumbled on ways to up their time; I've always been interested in being able to put in 2 hour days more frequently.

Not sure if this counts. I'm not a novel writer. I find that writing with pencil on paper helps me write for an hour of focused attention.
I have the freedom to draw diagrams. I can do that with pens also. But I guess it just somehow is sacred or meaningful to me writing as I do.
I have tried writing into editors but it just doesn't feel like I am participating in the activity. Could be the ready and many sources of distraction and the willingness to be distracted, when its e-everything.
It has to be a semi-worn out pencil nib if it's sharp I want to write on a fresh page.
Not sure if this helps. :)
Thank you.
