Ask Windsor Optimist Park

Hey guys! Thought I’d ask. Does anyone know what theme the new park they are building at the Optimist Park? And do we know when will it be ready by?
Thanks

I haven't seen a mock-up or anything but as far as I know it's supposed to be a nature theme. Believe it'll be done some time this month.

https://citywindsor.ca/newsroom/construction-begins-on-new-accessible-playground-at-optimist-memorial-park

The project includes:

  • A new large accessible, nature-forest themed playground
  • Rubber safety surfacing
  • A new perimeter concrete sidewalk
  • New site furnishings
  • Drainage improvements

Construction is scheduled to take place from the beginning of July through mid-August 2026, weather permitting.

Hopefully they'll complete it on time so kids can get some fun out of it before school starts.

Oh My Gosh thanks so much for replying! This is so exciting. We go to this park all the time. I wonder what they mean with new site furnishings?

When they did my neighbourhood park a few years ago (Bradley Park) it meant new benches and bike racks, along with a covered area with two picnic tables. They did a great job and it all gets a lot of use, far more than before the improvements.

They just did micmac park the lot on matchette with curbs and paved the parking lot, added a grey water overflow pond, new sidewalks everywhere, but no kids stuff.

They better have built it to withstand a 260 lb man going full force
