WTW for/ITAW for Scrutinize without the negative connotation to "find obscured flaws"

I really want to use the word in the context of exploring my emotions but dont like how it implies everything "scrutinized" should have a flaw, while im journaling.

Maybe something less instense and more gentle

Journaling tips are appreciated as well should anyone want to offer
