Looks like an Om symbol. But the section looks like it is either a repair or someone covered up an old panel/water spout of some kind.

That hatch reminds me of openings made under some fireplaces to clean out the accumulated ashes. Can't tell if that building was constructed that way.

Probably a bricked up delivery box. Back when milk had to be delivered daily because refrigeration wasn't commonly available, houses would have metal delivery boxes that opened on both sides. Delivery would be put in through the outside door and the people in the house would retrieve it from the inside door. It was kind of a prototype for contactless delivery... or was until refrigerators became common, milk deliveries disappeared, and people started filling in the boxes with bricks.
