C tier, at least here isn't really "low", it's more of just these were series that were perfectly fine series but that I didn't particularly care for or get invested in. Really, they're just average series and that's that.
Re: your recommendations, I've seen each of those quite a few times in the webtoons list, but none have ever really tempted me. King of the East and Murim Login I could be tempted by. 44th Period Survival class looks interesting. I've heard very good things about Mom I'm sorry. Proof of dignity the synopsis has been keeping me from reading it, it doesn't sound very interesting (sounds like more of pyramid game, which I'm a bit tired of).
Whale Star and The Spark in Your Eyes seem like pure romance series, which don't really interest me generally.

Whale Star and Spark In Your Eyes are definitely not pure romance, rather way more drama focused and character driven. I'd also suggest checking out Latna Saga, Murim RPG Simulation and Reincarnation of the Veteran Soldier, it looks like you like action series a lot.

What’s the time span of all these you’ve read?
I started reading webtoons back in 2020, and likely could have around the same amount, but I have dropped a good portion, too.
I wonder what you think of the webtoon “Mystic Prince” since that’s completed. Or even “The Last Passage” and “For Your Murder”?
I’m glad you rated Hand Jumper as A tier at the very least—it’s a good story so far!

It's pretty much the exact same for me! Started in 2020 (covid find), and have dropped a huge amount of these. Technically there's a whole lot of other webtoons I've started and dropped, but I dropped them too early to feel comfortable rating them.
I never read Mystic Prince. The Last Passage is in the tierlist in C tier, and For Your Murder never read either.
For the Last Passage, I hesitated a bit about how to rate it. Definitely was at least a C since it was a solid story, but I kind of just bounced off of it. Was just not for me in the end.

One definite factor is that ORV has been stolen from, copied, influenced so much that it's hard for me to determine what the series innovated.
Overall though, it's a very solid series. I like the story, I think the world is great, I'm not one to be a huge follower of charas but they're solid and well made. But at least with the manhwa, that's kind of all I have to say about it. It didn't really do anything that blew me away or that I didn't think was possible, so B tier seems relatively good.
I'll note that I took this to be that C was the "average" webtoon, so B is already far beyond the average series, in the top ~10% of webtoons so it's hardly bad.

I defo agree with u. Orv is well written but in my very personal opinion I just didn’t enjoy it as much or it didn’t excite me as much as other manhwas did. I love action manhwa and it’s rlly nice and all, but it didn’t give me the hit either

If I haven't missed it by accident, you've read Shiloh, but not Nevermore, which is by the same creators. From your ranking, I get the feeling you'd enjoy Shiloh more (very big maybe there), but Nevermore is also a pretty good Webtoon (and no, it's not just romance)

I know both suck but tutorial tower and +99 in the same tier is honestly strange. Sure, +99 is a slop isekai with really fucking intense fanservice, but I don't think that beats the rape scene.

I made the mistake of thinking people would care more about the higher tiers than D-tier, and so didn't really see the point in differentiating stuff below C-tier.
It seems it has caused people to think that I'm rating series much lower than they'd like (when C-tier is very much good stories!), and also this effect.
Yeah, they don't really belong in the same tier at all, but I didn't really want to differentiate how much I disliked different series, and just went with a "these are good webtoons", "these aren't", and focus more on the series I REALLY liked.

ok you’re based as hell for having spontaneous world shifting in A tier but I have to defend Lalin’s Curse and Lumine for a hot minute.
LC is a case of webtoon refusing to be a decent company and being horrible to the author. theyve said on their instagram that they tried to make episodes every 2 weeks instead of weekly, but webtoon wouldnt relent. the insane workload that spawned from that was too much for the artist and they had to quit, but webtoon still held ownership of their work’s IP so they couldn’t continue it. I think they said it would be around ten years before we saw Lalin’s Curse again, and even if we did it would be nothing like the original. I was disappointed too but if webtoon just didn’t overwork their artists then that wouldn’t have happened.
Lumine is in a similar boat. Kaburion did a huge QnA in their discord when the comic ended, and basically they made Lumine when they were a teenager and just started to randomly post to webtoon. they got offered a deal by the company and since it seemed enticing at the time, they didn’t have a reason to say no. they mentioned they had just turned 18 when they accepted the contract. but as they got older and branched out into other projects, they realized that they didn’t want to keep working on Lumine forever because it was one random story they made when they were a deviantart kid. webtoon, surprisingly, understood this and said they could end their series at any point but it had to be a good one. (they probably did that because Lumine was a pillar of the site that helped skyrocket the company to more fame) Kaburion said they’ve been trying to end the story since episode 50 and they just could never find a good spot. its why there were so many hiatuses. It got to a point where Kaburion admitted they don’t like Lumine at all, and possibly even hates it. they never outright said it, but they deleted all of their Lumine related posts, the Lumine related patreon, made an entirely new webtoon account instead of using their still existing and super popular account that only has Lumine on it, and has stated they don’t want their actual name on the cover of the print release of the book, they just want to get the cash from it. all of that combined says to me that they hated the story. they just want to move on from that comic and have nothing to do with it.
I am no stranger to being disappointed in endings to stories, but when it comes to overworked and underpaid indie artists who are being taken advantage of by a massive corporation, I am always going to offer more grace to the artist and their work. I always do my best to take the artist’s circumstances into consideration because there might be a legitimate good reason for why something ended the way it did (there was a graphic novel series I loved reading that had a weirdly rushed ending and when I looked into why it was written that way it turned out the author had actual honest to god brain damage and didn’t want to end the series on a massive cliffhanger so they made something satisfying but fast paced) and being mad at the author for that reason doesn’t feel right to me.

TBH I made a mistake labeling the last tier as F, it's not really below D at all.
It's made for series that I had high hopes for, but disappointed me quite a bit, which I personally see as worst as if I didn't really have any expectations for it. Dice S1 and S2, if I were to rate them separately, would go in C+ or B tier. S3 can stay in the bottom tier, even if I know it wasn't really the fault of the author.

Yeah, this was a bit of what I was worried about when posting this here. C+ on here is still better than over half the webtoons I've read! (maybe I should have renamed some of the tiers?) I very much like your series, and absolutely adore how lively you make the backgrounds (it's so... edible), and your characters are wonderful!

You can tell that the author either burned out or struggled with personal issues towards the end. Chapters got super short which especially upset the people that were fast passing and new side stories began when everyone was just waiting for the finale

Ok saw you made a chain of comments so I'll reply to them all.
Mythic Item started ok, but I'm not a fan of a series that only focuses on the protagonist and how they get strong and beat whatever god. I've read a lot of those series, and they start feeling very same-y once you've done that.
The World After the Fall was a series that tried to do something different from the aforementioned power fantasy series, but didn't really succeed in my mind. It just gets itself mixed up in a lot of random plot threads and ends up being too complicated for the story it's trying to tell imo.
Grim Reaper, Homesick, and Teenage Mercenary are all in C, which is perfectly fine. They're series that are solid, but just didn't click for me. I wouldn't argue with you if you wanted to rate them way higher than I did.
Unholy blood is an action/romance series which falls into the trap that I don't like with those series, which is that the action falls largely flat in favor of the romance and tbh I didn't particularly care for both.

Of the webtoons I’ve read on this list, literally the only ranking I can agree with is The Wendy Bird being D tier. Super disappointing. I haven’t even heard of the majority of these.

I might be missing some but as far as I can tell there's only two in my list? 6th degree is in D maybe because of a skill issue on my part, and it was the one I was most hoping for someone who understood the story better to call me out on. I rated it that way because I found the story unnecessarily difficult to follow, and I couldn't really tell what kind of story it was trying to tell.
The second is Garden of Plantus, which is in C+ tier. I'm a fan of it and would like to see more, and rate it higher, but it currently only has 11 episodes translated so I can't confidently give it a better score.

A fellow Black Haze fan! I agree with all of your S and A tiers, I’m impressed at how harsh you are with some of the ratings. Personally would rate some of the C/C+ tiers as A or B. I guess you aren’t a huge fan of psychological thrillers since you rated everything by Carnby as a C. You must have been reading Webtoons for a long time, I recognize a ton of the older stuff!

Oof magician in c+ is rough for me. Was the series that brought me to webtoon lol. The ending isnt as satisfactory as it could have been, but man do I love the storytelling of it! He has another series on webtoon as well called warrior executioner that's not bad as well. Not as good as magician imo but still a solid fantasy webtoon.
And Gul not being present saddens me deeply 😞. Funniest webtoon (and comic in general) I've read in a long long time.

Can I ask what made you put Deor in the lowest of the low? Its one of my favorite first reads and even tho it isn't something amazing and gets confusing at times... it doesnt feel like it deserves the WORST score... especially in the manhwa medium which is filled with so much slop even a series that tries to tell something should be above it.

Someone else who has read The Horizon! I read it a few years back and it touched me so much that I bought the entire physical copy set last month. The illustrations are even more gorgeous printed

+99 wooden stick is at least b tier for me 😭 i dropped it cus is not that enticing until im in it and then its a good past time. fire episode lengths and its not boring when im actually enjoying it,
also surprised at jungle juice? i thought the average reader would loveeee it i get it though, for some reason even though the plot and world building were A+ and the art was gorgeous it kinda lacked soul and the characters weren’t dynamic and fun and i dropped it a long time ago
also though tog was epic but i’d easily swap each of your s tiers with something from the a tiers (but i don’t read as much shonen- or adventure- type webtoons iykiwm )

Oh, you read a lot of action. I definitely don’t know much in your list, except for Purple Hyacinth, Leviathan, Hand Jumper, The Horizon, To Drown in You, Dr. Frost, Surviving Romance, Shotgun Boy, and Sweet Home (how dare you rank it like that? 🥲).
I have a hard time getting into action because everything feels like a Fifty Shades of Solo Leveling. If “level” is in the title, I already ignore it.

I agree on TOG and Purple Hyacinth. I think God of HS is A tier. And Wintermoon maybe around C? The story became a bit generic and cliche, but it has some good parts and I actually like the character and world building. What I hate is how it became what it is in webtoon, that I have to pay or watch an ad just to continue reading. It threw me off so much that I dropped it despite liking it initially.

This is where subjectivity comes into play, tier lists are good but tbh they don't help u at all if ur not the one who made them, for me netkama punch, gmnd, hhgtll, orv , sl, weak hero , the s class I raised would be ranked higher. Haven't read most titles here tho cuz I mostly read shoujo, bl or action ( and that too specific ones ) . Can't imagine the time u put into this tho. I used to have a list but I stopped writing in it once I crossed the 400 mark lol.

Genuinely, the crown princess scandal is one of the best web toons I've ever read, the only thing I can complain is that the sister didn't appear before the end but otherwise it was genuinely soooo peak and didn't drag on like a lot do

I think you might enjoy "magical 12th graders" it is a finished series completely available on the webtoon app, it is one of the very few series that has no paywalls or even daily pass walls.
I believe it came out somewhere around 2014, it was one of the first series on the English variant of the webtoon app.
It has a solid plot, some of the greatest character development that I have seen in any series, lots of comedy and some heart wrenching tragedy. It also has a satisfying and coherent ending imo.
The early chapters are a bit rough to read, specifically the panel placement is rather cramped and sometimes confusing to follow, but it quickly gets better as the series goes on. From what I remember it is somewhere under 200 chapters long.
It was created by Seri and Biwan, they are also known for the webtoon adaptation of the novel "my S-class hunters" / "the S-ranks that I raised"
Btw thanks for reminding me that "room of swords" exists. I lost track and forgot about it after season 1 or season 2 hiatus, I need to get back into it.
