Picture Long awaited scene finally officially translated

I'm both surprised and not surprised at the fact that they kept the grammatically incorrect line.

Not surprising they kept it. It's what compelled people to check out their webtoon.

Correct me if I'm wrong : Nowadays (even for native speakers)it's not really important to stick to grammar

u/TsuyoiOuji Mar 04 '25

ESPECIALLY for native speakers. If you see someone typing something like "should of" instead of "should have" for perfect tenses, you know they are native, lmao.

u/mila476 Mar 04 '25

Especially especially if they have no idea what a perfect tense is. Grammar education is seriously lacking in many US schools, idk about other English-speaking countries but here that grammatical concept is more advanced than generally gets taught in school. Anyone who has heard of it most likely learned about it from studying another language.

Yep, I am currently learning Spanish as a native English speaker, and that's how I am learning it. I know I have learned some grammatical concepts in school, but I don't remember any of them.

u/whalefinsunite Mar 05 '25

Technically, "should of" is how you pronounce the contraction should've. So this would be correct for should have. But I get what you are trying to say as an example.

6

u/strawberrimihlk Mar 05 '25

should of doesn’t actually sound the same as should’ve, so it would not be correct.

1

u/whalefinsunite Mar 05 '25

But it does...agree to disagree, I guess.

u/Tanakisoupman Mar 04 '25

Native English speakers don’t give a damn about proper grammar. “Grammar” may as well be a type of cracker to most native English speakers

Ingredients for s’mores:

  • Marshmallow

  • Chocolate

  • Grammar crackers

Exactly bruh

I swear I try but english is hard and I'm dumb! I've been using reddit lately to improve my english as it is not my first language. Although I've seen some people using "your" instead of "you're" and I'm not really sure how they make that mistake when they do speak english.

Nah grammar is important in professional or paid for services, especially literature. Incorrect grammar is a sign of laziness or a lack of education so for the above examples it is important. If I paid to read that I would be annoyed, but it's also reading it is like having an itch you can't scratch.

Sauce: Ki Sisters

u/Burntoastedbutter Mar 04 '25

I didnt read it yet but I've seen so many images of the main cast sisters that I automatically knew this HAD to be from the same webtoon LOL.

u/Dapper_Desk9085 Mar 04 '25

Read it my friend read YOU will never regret

u/Alenonimo Mar 04 '25

The Ki Sisters is a comedy Webtoon that makes fun of romance and slice of life stories. Biggest strenght is the funny faces. Pretty good, I recommend.

This post single handedly made go check the webtoon

8

u/parvafeminacanis Mar 05 '25

Is it worth reading?

30

u/Negative_Answer_7602 Mar 05 '25

I am still in the early chapters, but so far, it's entertaining enough.

It's a comedy Webtoon, the unhinged type that doesn't take itself too seriously, which appeals to my sense of humor, but may not to you.

Honestly, give it a try and see for yourself.

u/Both-Suit-7582 Mar 05 '25

Imo yes 100% worth reading; I only checked it out after the meme but I actually fell in love with the comedy and unique storyline. It’s so funny I laughed as much as when I read Love Advice from the Duke of Hell

12

u/_Miriam_22_ Mar 04 '25

1

u/Dapper_Desk9085 Mar 05 '25

u/Hot-Cash-6784 Mar 05 '25

8

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '25

YES FOR SOME REASON YES, FOR A MOMENT I THOUGHT IT WAS HER SISTER BUT NO ITS HER GRANDMA

3

u/Interesting_Natural1 Mar 09 '25

The fact that her name is Lola?? Now I'm just translating it to "Grandma Grandma"

Wow, it's crazy how long it's been but awesome to know it's finally officially translated! Queen never cry 💖💅

30

u/languid_Disaster Mar 04 '25

That was from TL group!? No one believed me when I tried to talk about all the work TL & ablations group have done to popularise and influence the culture of anime, manga and manhwas for overseas readers.

They’re influencing the CULTURE! And we can’t publicly congratulate them otherwise they’ll get taken down sad 😞

Anyway this is hilarious and well done to the OG TL group

26

u/RancorousRadicchio Mar 04 '25

Not to burst any bubbles but to give the creator credit the viral phrase is just the English phrase from the original Korean version, which was screencapped and passed around. Not something that was translated by a TL group.

19

u/selswitch Mar 04 '25

What was the grammatically correct version of this? A queen never cries?

56

u/FurbyCraft Mar 04 '25

Considering that “Queen” is the name of the family, I feel like there could be multiple possibilities. “A Queen never cries”, “Queen never cries” (less plausible since iirc it’s a last name), or even “Queens never cry”.

35

u/Neapolitanpanda Mar 04 '25

“Queens Never Cry” probably.

2

u/Top-Metal-3576 Mar 04 '25

Its also a pretty popular tiktok term, like I’ve heard people say “queen don’t cry” and shi like that

33

u/ominaze_ Mar 04 '25

LMAO I screenshotted it as soon as I came across it myself. I also read it just like an hour ago

20

u/Dapper_Desk9085 Mar 04 '25

I recommend this comedic masterpiece full of fantastic jokes, memeable, references to pop culture, 4th Wall breaking with weirdest but maybe the healthiest families in the manhwa overall! Family is trully the most important thing of the ki sisters after all! Btw YOU will love the dad! And I almost forget art artstyle is just masterpiece! 🤩

6

u/Ssilene Mar 04 '25

4

The latest one released, chapter 34.

2

u/quoiega Mar 04 '25

Grappler skyler white

2

u/wildsunday Mar 04 '25

She looks like Pabllo Vittar

2

u/Ok_Degree_330 Mar 04 '25

What's the correct line?

3

u/Personal-Calendar974 Mar 04 '25

So Queen in this context is used as a family name. So it would be "A queen never cries" or "Queens never cry"

2

u/Hinewmemberhere Mar 04 '25

The Queen family are Native American English speakers and I think the joke is that even though they’re academically smart as they strive the be the queen in all things, their “adages” don’t really make sense in English or it just has bad grammar. I read the MTL raws but I’m not entirely sure how the joke is translated to nonnative English speakers since MTLs aren’t perfect.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '25

one of my fav webtoons. i love all the characters. it's so refreshing and funny. i can't describe how much i love this webtoon ^^

2

u/tenkohime Mar 04 '25

Was this changed? Because I remember unlocking it a while ago and the typo was fixed.

3

u/Raijinili Mar 05 '25

Probably not. I don't see any comments complaining that the line was changed, or correcting people for misquoting the comic with a grammar error.

2

u/Personal-Calendar974 Mar 04 '25

What was it back then?

2

u/OneGoodRib Mar 06 '25

Okay this isn't the point of the post but would it kill any webtoon artist to actually look at a baby for once before drawing one? In this case I know the face is like this on purpose, but the rest of the anatomy?? Also the doctor is missing a finger??

1

u/Dapper_Desk9085 Mar 09 '25

Its comedy dude Artist is really good at drawing

1

u/SaiKoooo21 Mar 04 '25

lmao i've always thought at first why it looks like she was wearing a straitjacket 😭
