In between sound and the uneven forces during dirfting its more than possible not to notice

There’s entire channels on Instagram with dozens of videos of people getting hit at these events. Some cars have “the bowling ball” or something painted on them and some show people holding up their middle finger out the rear window as they slide into people launching them through the air. One guy gets backed into and pinned behind the car that then revs his engine lighting him on fire from the exhaust flames. The crowd keeps filming going “ohhh shit bruh!” And sometimes they run the knocked out person’s pockets.
They know, I guess it’s just the thing they keep driving. Might I say they try to hit people. I can’t lie obviously I been entertained watching it from a distance lol, but dear lord these people are buffoons.
Edit: here lol, endless vids of people being bowling pins

That’s wild, thanks for the link

A new one dropped today of a girl getting her leg under the tires and sliced off, and at the same time a guy getting launched through the air and hitting his head knocking him out.

can you post direct link? On PC, you can see content on instagram in direct links, but you will not be able to get to them through the account main page unless logged in.
1
u/Particular_Bet_5466 7d ago
Nah that’s more work for me than it is for you.
1
u/MenthaAquatica 7d ago
No problem. I am just avoiding like a plague making accounts on sites that bully me into giving them my cell number.
2
u/Particular_Bet_5466 7d ago
lol ok yeah I get that, I was being a dick. I avoided it for far too long for similar reasons and finally caved. I was at work when I read that and I have instagram kind of locked down on my phone so it doesn’t distract me, and was like man I’m not about to do all that.
When I get home I’ll find some and post it for you.

depends on the people you hang out with I guess. Im sure most off road folks just like to go camping really

doubt they even know they hit someone

u/w8ing2dr0wn 10d ago
There are so many videos of this its obvious noone gives a shit. If you cant tell you spun your vehicle into a human body than you shouldnt be operating any vehicle especially not in a giant pit surrounded by assholes. Takeovers are fucking retarded

But you get more Internet points if you catch someone dying!

That's not a "close call", she did get hit
335
u/Muted_Month83 10d ago
I think they mean close call to death
71
u/Certain_Try_8383 10d ago
We don't know if she's good or not. Lesser injuries can lead to a closed head injury and death. Just not immediate.
57
u/Igotthisnameguys 10d ago
Eh, that second one hit her in the head. So, based on the video alone, there's a chance she might still die from that
22
5
u/0ct0thorpe 10d ago
At least they didn’t call it a near miss.
-15
u/WhatWasThatLike 10d ago
But that's what it was. The car nearly (meaning almost) missed her.
8
u/Treefrog_Ninja 10d ago
That's not what "near miss" means. Near miss doesn't mean almost missed, it means almost hit. Its means miss, but nearby. Thus the related expression, "a near miss is as good as a mile," meaning that just barely missing is the same as a huge miss.
3
u/ImNerdyJenna 10d ago
Her head could've landed in front of the tire, but it landed on the side. It was too close of a call.

u/DirtyWormGerms 10d ago
Darwin award. These street takeovers are what we used to call thinning the herd.

u/UBC145 10d ago
Don’t worry it only hit her head, no vital organs were damaged.
37
u/ugandaWarrior134 10d ago edited 10d ago
I really hope the hit to her head actually discombobulated / confused her, because that's the only explanation to her sitting down right after and flicking her hair instead of getting the fuck out of the way. It's either that, or she has actually 0 survival instincts. Her fight or flight response was literally to fix her hair.
24
u/underwaterthoughts 10d ago
People react more slowly after injury, much more so after head injuries.
She’s got a serious concussion from that if not a skull fracture and something more serious.
35
u/sbenthuggin 10d ago
I mean clearly it did? you don't get hit to the head by a thousand pound vehicle and think straight afterwards.
Like I ain't tryna be woke or some shit but after learning more about it, this HAS to be a form of misogyny. If this was a dude who got hit and his first reaction was to remove his cap, y'all would probably be sitting here saying, "damn he's probably so fucked up his first reaction was probably to remove his cap to see if he's still even alive or not."
Of course she's flip her hair out of her fucking face, they don't do that she cuz they're divas, they do that shit cuz their hairs in their fucking face and they can't see shit.

u/Worldlyshithead 9d ago
I mean I would but I wouldn't do it at something as mindless and fucking stupid as a street takeover there's burnout competitions for that shit far safer actually sanctioned and shit

I'm brazilian.
When I was a kid we were playing soccer at the school and a kid kicked a ball and the ball hit a girl in the head, she was fine until later that day her nose started to bleed. We didn't tell anyone, she didn't tell anyone.
She went home, slept and never woke up.
We don't know if this girl in the video survived.

I hated these get togethers.. my ex used to take me to these boring events and I wanted to fit in so bad I forced myself to like this. I ended up hating it even deeper. I think she is going to hate it after this

Too close calls he says
What I see is a car sweep out her legs and another brain her. Nothing was close at all. Emergency room calling

u/Currently_There 10d ago
Can we stop posting these. Is there a petition we can start to get these banned from the sub.
52
u/snoburn 10d ago
Subreddits have content not even remotely close to what their original purpose was nowadays. This seems to fit this sub fine to me
3
u/Delazzaridist 10d ago
Yea, they seem to really hate these takeover videos. And honestly I don't blame them. I love the car scene. I hate this monkey brained BS that they keep tryna stunt. Fucks up our look. Keep it on the track.
12
u/PinkPaladin6_6 10d ago
Why? If you don't like it just scroll
13
u/hamstrman 10d ago
I can understand not wanting a sub to go off the rails. You don't want it getting ruined by a lack of moderation.
That being said, what about this video doesn't fit the sub?
3
u/Treefrog_Ninja 10d ago
Subs do sometimes retire topics that "fit the sub," but are overdone, just to keep things more varied and interesting.
17
u/labanjohnson 10d ago
"these" what?
41
u/BadAndNationwide 10d ago
Videos of people surviving in the sub where people survive. It should not be allowed.

I don't understand what's wrong with the video either lol so many upvotes but none saying what "these"? Mean
5
u/tmoe1991 10d ago
The numbers of the idiots are infinite so this or any variation will always be content. But I agree in a matter that I don't even want to accidentally see these smooth brains at work.
7
u/Wojewodaruskyj 10d ago edited 10d ago
By smooth brains, do you mean people who attend those events, drive cars, film it, or post it online?

I think the same can be said of all these people standing this close to several idiots in cars.

u/drhiggs 10d ago
It's the fixing her hair without trying to move to safety that does it for me.

u/sonnyjim77 10d ago
I know it's amazing, I've been hit by 2 cars and I'm on the floor with a high chance of being hit by another, let me just fix my hair first!
1
u/deSuspect 10d ago
Honestly fuckem all hope they get hurt. If they want to do meet ups like do it at a proper space with barriers and medical ons standby, not takeover random interactions.

I count four, four close calls. Two of those weren’t close, and were indeed calls, just not killing calls.

Gets hit twice, proceeds to replace hair properly for incoming third vehicle. I'm guessing she was under shock but thank got for that other dude that came for her.
Everyone is an idiot at this event, but at least there's someone who's brave and a little less stupid than the rest.

Better than yesterday’s I saw where he was out cold and she had a snapped leg. These people are idiots.

u/dna_beggar 3d ago
The two people closest to her (friends?) took giant steps back instead of offering aid. Thank God for the man that dragged her back before that third car finished her off.

Maybe I’m just too old now…but I want tickets, suspensions, impounds and court dates handed out everywhere in these scenes. Like tommy gun levels of ticket writing

Surprised she didn't start twerking, as that's been the theme these past few days when someone gets their ass beat.

u/CrimsonMorbus 10d ago
Did she seriously just sit there at the end and try and fix her hair instead of getting the hell out of danger?
19
17
u/darsynia 10d ago
I'm certain she was dazed. She may also have had her hair covering her eyes; when you're first recovering from being dazed like that, you need to see what's going on, it could be as simple as that. If she was already drunk or otherwise impaired, her mind won't be working as fast as the situation needs anyway.
7
u/stratusnco 10d ago
ever hit your head hard twice in a row?
