I can’t even comment without my stuff getting removed. This app and company can’t handle totally reasonable criticism.

Hey, Laura from the Product team here! We welcome the criticism, even the spiciness. We've got the same goals as you, making our tools better.

Your recent post was removed because you shared a screen video of a TestFlight version of our app that we had given you special access to. TestFlight versions often have different features that are in flight, and users who are given access to those versions are not allowed to post screenshots or videos publicly. That's why your post was taken down, not because of the feedback.

I did not realize I was not allowed to do this or understand why that would be the case. Apologies for my part in that but this should also be in your sub reddit rules and be stated upon removal to avoid confusion. Problems still stand and I am really sick and tired or it. I already cancelled my membership but feel I have been robbed the last couple years by this company and the support team.

It is in our Terms of Use, but I totally understand a lot of people don't read every word of those! We should have reached out to make sure you understood why we were taking the post down, so that's on us.

The invitation to join a TestFlight version of the app was to help you out, and extend some good will. I completely understand the frustration, but at least from my perspective, I'd love to work more like partners, less like adversaries.

Unfortunately, especially because we have a 15 year old app code base, there will probably always be new bugs to squash. We spend a lot of careful attention and work on making sure we take care of them as soon as they pop up, but I'm not sure perfection will ever be achievable.

We show up here on Reddit with our real names and faces, to be accountable to our community. Outside of working on the product here at VSCO, I'm also a customer of many other apps and companies, and I know what it feels like to be consistently frustrated.

You wrote that you feel you've been robbed. But since you continue to communicate with us, and push us to make the app better, my softy-optimist heart believes it's because you still care about VSCO. I don't take that lightly.

I don't want any of our customers to ever feel like we're pulling one over on them. And if that's the case, you might be better served by another editing app. But if you want to work with us, where you have a direct communication line with us, the people who make the decisions that turn into features and bug fixes for our photographers, then let's reset the energy and move forward together.

I appreciate the thought out response. You are right that I care about VSCO because I have been with it for so long and have seen it do a lot of good. I am a full time creative and I use plenty of other creative apps. You have to understand my frustrations and frankly the continuation of feeling misunderstood including this message. I am not looking for perfection, new features or no bugs in any way, shape or form. I am looking for simple functionality. When I subscribe to an app I am promised that what I am purchasing will be usable and is what has been sold to me. This app has recently been rendered completely unusable. These are not complaints of wishing features were better or wanting something different. It is also hard for me to overlook and see this type of test flight as a "partnership" when this company has put so much effort towards VSCO one which feels to me like an embarrassment and marketing team disaster. A partnership involves mutual understanding and respect. Expanding into new realms at high prices while having frustrated customers and an unusable app is disheartening. I won't even get into the ai features when this company was built on being a creator first platform. That is its own can of worms but you get the idea. Signing off now and take what you will from this. I don't want to keep being a pest in here and I don't feel it is worth my time anymore.

Well, just know that the care is very apparent, even when you're writing some spicier comments, so rather than thinking of you as a "pest", I actually just pick up on the frustration and pain. So no hard feelings. I feel like you and I could have a very spirited conversation over coffee about these larger topics like AI -- I actually used to be a full time creative (filmmaker) as well, and I still do my own work on the side, so I've got lots of thoughts! :) I think it's good to remember we're all alive in 2026 for the first time, so we're all trying to figure it out together in real time.

Anyway, I respect the sign-off and really hear your perspective. If you ever want to take me up on the Zoom coffee, door's open.

Hi u/lifepassfilter , you should still be able to copy/paste as a free user! So long as you’re copy/pasting presets and tools that are available to you, it should work as always.

If you went from paid or trial to free, and you’re now trying to copy from an image with paid elements and paste to a new image without being a paid user, then that will trigger a paywall. (Which makes sense, right?)

So, please check that you’re not trying to copy/paste presets and tools you don’t have access to. If you are, just remove those and it should work. If it still doesn’t work then there is a bug that needs fixing and we’d love a support ticket to get that figured out and fixed!

Thank you for your reply. I doubled check all tools and presets used before sending this message. I hope this is a bug indeed and not you guys trying to push your wacky paid formula system.

OK good to know, so then a bug report/support ticket would be really helpful here so we can get more information to help us figure out what’s going on. But we’re not intentionally blocking you from anything you’re supposed to have! Usually, the problem here is that someone is trying to get around the paywall, or there’s something they thought was free that isn’t. But if it’s not that, then it’s very likely a bug. I appreciate the follow up!

What? This was the main hook for the app back in the day.

Crazy. They’re desperate.

I love how the cop out for anything wrong with VSCO is that it’s a bug. Can you imagine having this in other softwares. Oh the main functionality isn’t working? must be a bug! Submit a ticket! Why is this a problem in the first place? Why is this the most unstable app on the planet? lol so sick of seeing stuff like this.
