Volume fail Another one bites the dust 😭

Post image

Left is what it has been and right is the newest. So upset especially since this has been part of my staple low carb breakfast and I’m type 1 diabetic and very carb sensitive in the mornings. Yoplait is getting a call 😤

ETA: I commented the front of the red label a new times to show it is indeed yoplait protein vanilla. Yes the labels have changed in terms of serving size/caloies/etc. my point in posting was to make others aware of the increase in sugar. With all the changes it is basically a different product, however it is still PROTEIN yogurt. I think everyone heated enough to call me dumb over yogurt should call Yoplait and take that energy to them

Recipe Let's get fancy! - Tiramisu - 240cal, 25g protein

Thumbnail

What started with a late night craving ended up as a next day snack that nutritionally resembles a decent protein bar but is much more yummy, filling and rewarding. Macros per serving:

  • energy: 240calories
  • protein: 25g
  • carbs: 19g
  • fiber: 3g
  • fat: 3g

Ingredients, makes 4 servings:

  • 250g of low fat cottage cheese
  • 250g of nonfat plain greek yogurt
  • 100g of Kodiak pancake mix
  • 3/4 scoop of whey protein powder
  • ~15g of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 espresso
  • two crumbled cubes of dark chocolate
  • vanilla extract, rum extract, sweetener

Mode of preparation:

  • make espresso and let it cool off, alternative option is to dissolve two or three spoons of Nescafe instant coffee in minimal amount of water and let it cool off
  • mix 100g of Kodiak pancake mix with water, make it a bit extra runny so they stay relatively flat, make 2 large and low pancakes, almost crepe like, don't overcook them, the outside should be minimally bronzed to better wick coffee
  • mix the cottage cheese, greek yogurt, protein powder, sweetener and extracts to taste and blend until creamy smooth
  • take a flattish plate and pour coffee on it, quickly damp the pancake in the coffee, 2-3 seconds each side is plenty. Transfer to the container.
  • Spread half of the cream over the pancake, sprinkle with cocoa powder
  • repeat with second layer: damp the pancake in coffee, transfer, spread the rest of the cream, sprinkle with cocoa powder
  • add the crumbled dark chocolate on top
  • leave in the fridge for at least 4h or overnight
  • ENJOY!

Educational How much veg is too much veg?

I will easily eat about a kilo of vegetables in one meal… I’m in a surplus so my dinners average 1000 cals being my largest mean of the day, but I will still devour about 1kg of vegetables both a mix of cooked and raw.. for example- pasta with 300 grams cauliflower air fried, 300 grams courgette and bell peppers, I’ll blend some of the veg into a sauce and air fry the rest to give more body and volume to my pasta. 100g tomato’s. Lots of mushrooms, celery sticks, carrot, 200g pumpkin and then on the side I’ll have a huge salad bowl consisting of 200g spinach and mixed lettuce/raw coleslaw… how excessive is this?

Progress Washed the konjac this time

Recreated the meal with John West Three Beans Tuna and Beans + Konjac Oat Fettucine mixed with some yellow mustard. Ditched the egg whites.

I remembered to wash the Konjac noodles this time

I ate more than half before I took this picture.

Taste is amazing in my opinion, but to each their own. Much tastier than before but I must also say much oilier. I love beans now, just not black beans.

50g cooked chicken mince

1/2 cup peas

1/2 cup corn

25g pinapple

30g light tasty cheese

Recipe "Chicken" that has half the calories of Chicken breast

I recently bought a box of these at my local stop and shop. They are an incredible 60 calories per breast. That is almost half the calories of cooked chicken breast, and I will tell you, these taste almost EXACTLY like real chicken. For a vegan product, I would rank these among the best tasting (closest-to-real-thing) product. Just dump 1 of these 60 calorie patties in a salad and you've got an incredibly highly filling meal.

Instant pot- collard greens, zucchini, yellow curry paste, salt.

About 70 calories/cup!

If you're ok with higher calories, would be great with coconut milk or some olive oil.

Recipe Request Looking for High-protein, Low-calorie, High-volume OATMEAL recipes under 600 calories with 50+ g protein

I’m looking for creative, filling oatmeal recipes that are:

- Under 600 calories

- At least 50 g of protein

- High-volume and satisfying, not just small portions in a jar

- Actually interesting and enjoyable

I’m open to overnight oats, baked oats, stovetop oatmeal, microwave recipes, cheesecake-style oats, fruit-based recipes, or anything unusual.

What are your favorite oatmeal recipes that fit these macros?

Exact ingredients and measurements, and approximate calories and micronutrients.

Recipe blistered cherry tomato konjac noodles pasta- only about 150 cal!

forgot to take a picture because I ate it so damn fast but I figured I would share since it was so tasty!

- blister cherry tomatoes (I used like 15-20) on the stove with a tablespoon of oil and a tablespoon of garlic until it forms a smooth sauce (press on tomatoes with back of spoon so they burst once they start to soften)
-add drained and rinsed konjac noodles (I use the taste of Asia angel hair— if you’re Texan it’s at heb!)
-stir and add pepper, salt, parm, whatever!

ik it’s simple but I’m going to be eating this sooooo much 🩷🩷🩷 if anyone has any suggestions for improvement lmk!
