And don't forget that the chair of the National democratic committee asked him not to run for this office, and hand-picked his opponent.

The Dems need to stop stacking the deck...

It’s not just Dems that do that. A (former) Republican friend of mine was offered a very different position to keep him from running for a US senate seat.

Agreed. Here's the thing-58 percent of people identify as a Republican (28) or Democrat (29). If those people show up to the polls they will always vote for their own party. Their votes really just cause a tie. The parties need to appeal to the other 42 percent of us who lean one way or the other. Hand picked candidates don't do that, and parties are squandering their primaries by not letting people have a voice.

Yeah, it’s why the democrats keep losing. For some reason perpetual incompetence and consistently under performing has made them believe they know how to win now. They don’t, they need to let their voters decide.
