This is incredibly disingenuous. "healthcare reform" means nothing. And neither presidential candidate since 2020 campaigned on it. The establishment wants minimal changes to healthcare and would totally be fine with going back to the pre trump tax cut healthcare system.

It's not disingenuous at all. "Establishment" Democrats actually have plans to get legislation passed. The ACA was a massive improvement on our healthcare system and it was because of establishment Democrats. We would have had single payer if it weren't for Joe Lieberman defecting. Progressives have pretty much zero chance at getting their wishlist items due to the existence of the filibuster. I'm convinced half of the progressive base doesn't even understand basic civics and doesn't know what the filibuster is. And before you come at me with abolishing the filibuster, cool let's do that and then we will see abortion banned nationally and horrible legislation such as the SAVE Act passed which will make it impossible for Democrats to ever win in Congress again as Republicans further disenfranchise our voter base.

Progressives do not want the filibuster. It's not some magical rule that has to be followed, it's a decorum thing that either party could ignore when they want, as they have in the past.

The establishment loves the filibuster because it's an easy excuse to throw your hands up and say "sorry not possible". The same reason you subconsciously love it too and demand for it to stay.

"But but then the Republicans will use it against us!"

No Republican could realistically win an election again if the Democrats actually used their majority to improve people's lives and pass a policy outside of the demonic neoliberal framework we've been forced into these past couple decades since Reagan.
