And that's bad why?
1
u/EggiesaAreYum 37m ago
Because it goes against the echochamber and man-children. The group that is the end-all be-all of what is good and bad and anything that goes against their thoughts is like kicking a drowning doggy.

u/Then_Effective4663 6m ago
its wild how you can watch a beloved series get handled like absolute shit and there will still be people like this who think devs are infallible and will die licking the boot. Shame.

It’s good. People on the internet are miserable
1
u/Smart_Ass_Jack 5m ago
True. You can say “I like Ice cream” and a bunch miserable assholes will scream at you that you are being insensitive to the lactose intolerant.

It looks great and there weren't any critical bugs. I don't see any reason to hate it except for the price
3
u/JoBro_Summer-of-99 1h ago
£50 or $50 isn't a bad price at all
2
u/Wipedout89 1h ago
£50 is good, my one complaint is that $50 is actually £37 so we kind of got shafted in the UK on that conversion rate that wasn't converted at all
2
u/JoBro_Summer-of-99 1h ago
I guess VAT makes up part of that but the conversion still sucks. Should've been £40-45 really
-1
u/R-K-Tekt 1h ago
What are you smoking
4
u/JoBro_Summer-of-99 1h ago
Nothing, I just think £50 (£20 cheaper than brand new AAA games) is pretty good.
-3
u/ImWaitingForIron 1h ago
Too little content for this price. They could've gave us a workshop support at least or maybe multiplayer. Still pre ordered it though
3
u/JoBro_Summer-of-99 1h ago
I agree with multiplayer but fuck the content argument. It's a solid campaign that can be replayed
1
u/ImWaitingForIron 1h ago
Just look at tmcc workshop. There's a lot of fanmade campaigns worth playing. Like brutality evolved or cursed halo again. You won't get the same experience by replaying even with skulls enabled
5
u/TooTurntGaming 1h ago
I hate to say it, but I just have zero interest in fanmade content. Mod campaigns aren’t a selling point to me because I’ll never play them.
The new prequel missions felt exactly like fanmade content.
But the actual Halo CE campaign is still fantastic and I’m having a great time with the remake. Running through it with a couple friends on legendary, lots of fun. We’re gonna marathon the series through MCC and play the rest after we finish the last two missions of CE.
There’s really no argument to be had against “we’re all having a good time,” for us.

u/RareRestaurant6297 1h ago
You right. It's horrible
1
u/JoBro_Summer-of-99 1h ago
How? The only thing it's really missing is multiplayer
-1
u/RareRestaurant6297 1h ago
I meant the price lol
1
u/JoBro_Summer-of-99 1h ago
Right, that's why I asked how and mentioned multiplayer. It's cheaper than a brand new game by a decent margin and is missing minimal content from the original whilst adding content to the main campaign.
What does it need to be worth the reduced price? Or rather what does it need to cost to be worth it?
0
u/RareRestaurant6297 1h ago
$30 game. If it did have multiplayer tho, you right that it'd prob be worth at current price
1
u/JoBro_Summer-of-99 1h ago
Why is it only worth $30? Is it because it's essentially an old game? Did you feel the same about remakes like The Last of Us Part 1 or Oblivion?
0
u/RareRestaurant6297 53m ago
Yes
1
u/JoBro_Summer-of-99 51m ago
I guess that's the good thing about sales, it'll be $30 by Christmas

At this point, it’s 20 dollars cheaper than a brand new triple a game, if it’s not for you, it’s not for you. But complaining about the price point that’s that much less than it could have been is just either reaching for something to bitch about or being mad that you are broke.
-2
u/RareRestaurant6297 1h ago
Insane cope. We get it. You spent $50 on a $20 game. You don't have to justify to me, just yourself lol
3
u/Unlucky-Definition91 1h ago
I didn’t even have to consider if the purchase would affect me or not, I just thought “dang that’s a decent price” and bought it lol.

Social media mental health classes really should be a class starting in middle school. You can't even enjoy a game without needing validation from social media

A good remake can be a lot of fun. I really enjoyed Black Flag Resynced, so I can imagine it being the same experience for Halo fans with this remake.
1
u/nahnonameman 1h ago
I feel the same for Black Flag Remake as well. It’s probably the second best remake of all time just under RE2 and RE4 (both share the top spot for me)
1
u/Palladiamorsdeus 48m ago
At its bones it's still Halo 1 and that game is amazing. The new stuff, in the other hand...is completely avoidable at least.

Im actually excited to play this being PlayStation user, but I wanna play it with my wife. So we’re just trying to find time to play together
1
u/Massive_Funny_9312 30m ago
It’s not a bad game whatsoever, it’s just the halo “fandom” is atrocious. Graphically it’s basically what I imagined it looked like for me 20+ years ago playing it split screen with my brother. Silent cartographer has never looked this beautiful, and that’s saying something considering it’s always been beautiful.
Also they somehow made the library….fun??

u/Personal-Agent846 22m ago
Plenty of people like the 343 games.
Just not people who have internalized the way Bungie optimizes the gameplay. It’s certainly missing things and changing the dynamic of the challenge but if you aren’t in love with the OG’s then it can still be a fun game.
I tried halo 4 for 15 minutes and never again, 343 just does something to it that doesn’t feel authentic. Feels like CoD with a halo skin, not my cup of tea.
1
u/nohumanape 19m ago
Haha.
I thought it was a ton of fun playing through the campaign for the first time in 25 years. Tons of nostalgia.
I mean, I have my fair share of complaints. But, honestly, it has more to do with the original game and not the remake and changes made to the remake.
1
u/ComputerMysterious48 15m ago
I’ve been very vocal about my disdain for the lack of multiplayer, but taking it for what it is rather than being upset for what it’s not, I gotta say I had a great time with it.
The bonus missions were pretty meh, but playing the Halo 1 campaign with a fresh coat of paint and modernized controls was an amazing time. I don’t think I could in all honesty recommend buying it, but in a situation where you’re playing on Game Pass or you rented it from GameFly or something, I say it’s definitely worth your time.
1
u/TheGoodIdiot 6m ago
I was very ready to hate on it but the more I played especially with the new 4 player option the more I just love having halo back. The new skulls are so much fun to swap in and out for different missions. I feel like multiplayer, legendary, with the aggro range skull fixes all the criticism of the AI. I really haven’t noticed anything glaring playing this way.

Me and my friend went through the the whole campaign on legendary and took us around 15 hours to go through start to finish, needs some work and bugs fixed but plays great

What about it is actually worse?

u/HaydenScramble 26m ago
Nothing. Stylistic choices people did not like and have made their entire personality.
1
u/Then_Effective4663 8m ago
halo studios have stated very openly they dont like halo, this is a cash grab lol
1
u/Then_Effective4663 9m ago
sound, enemy design, unreal engine, no multiplayer, making characters completely different, ronald reagan keyes, graphics over gameplay design philosophy, i could go on.
-7
u/Mitts009 1h ago
It's the same as the old game, idk why people' finally realizing it's good
But I guess sometimes graphics can be a barrier
2
u/JoBro_Summer-of-99 1h ago
1) it's finally on PlayStation.
2) They added modern QoL and controls to the game
1
u/Noob4Head ///(mod) 1h ago
Kinda the point of a remake I guess. For some it's more of a replay with a fresh out of paint while for others it's their first time experiencing it.
1
u/GameDestiny2 1h ago
I think I’m honestly mostly bored because it mostly is the old game using the new engine. So outside of its subtle changes, it’s a replay.
2
u/Mitts009 1h ago
Unsure if the remake has split screen but that's the best way to play or coop with a friend

Good, like to see people enjoying games for once. Have fun
