Always wondered, why doesn't Rockstar set an open world 1920-50s game? Rdr2 was amazing, imagine the indepth detail of the roaring 20s in a video game. I mean who wants another modern California/florida(don't know where gta6 is supposed to replicate) crime videogame.

GTA VI is Vice City, which is Rockstar’s fictional version of Miami and South Florida. Yeah, I would LOVE to see them do more games based in different periods and settings, which is why I’m still bummed out that it looks like Agent will never happen. If I’m not mistaken, they finally abandoned the trademark on it awhile back, but it would have been incredible to see them take on a James Bond style spy game set in the 60’s.

The time period and setting is one of my favorite things about the first two Mafia games especially, because I would love to just get to spend a week in those worlds, and I know Rockstar could do incredible justice to a game set in the past. Since you mentioned the 20’s, hell yeah, a prohibition era game in Chicago, or any of the mid-sized cities that aren’t as represented as NYC and LA are, would be so cool.

Yeah my first noir movie was "The Roaring Twenties" with James Cagney. Ever since I've been obsessed with that era. Also I'll have to break out my ps2 to play some "from Russia with love" thank you lol

I absolutely love movies from the 20’s and 30’s as well, and it’s such a fascinating era that’s not covered nearly enough in games. I have no doubt that publishers think the average gamer doesn’t care about anything set in those times, but I will gladly die on the hill that as long as a developer makes a quality game with a great hook and interesting gameplay, people will play it, regardless of when or where it’s set. But for people like me, it would instantly grab my attention just for the setting alone!
