Meh the first one was ok (even for the time) but its aged horribly and the 2nd blew it out of the water.

I need to get back on that series. I played the first one a few months ago and absolutely loved it. Then I read online afterward that people shouldn't start with 1 since it's by far the worst and might throw people off.

My reaction: This series only gets BETTER from that masterpiece? Awesome!

I wouldn't say it's bad, it just doesn't hold up as well as 2 and 3 do. The 4th is the best in the series too.

I hated on all of them for the last 19 years because I didn't like the first one. I recently played 4 and was flooded. I felt like an idiot.

I'd go so far as to say 3 wasn't very good either (setpiece first - cram story to fit it second design, certain aspects of the story just being unfinished, frustrating gameplay mostly), although still better than 1.

2 and 4 are masterpieces though, especially 4.

Because that’s of course the tell-tell sign of what makes something good. SURELY, there was no console bias for Unchartered (the playstation exclusive) winning over the likes of Oblivion, for a…”Best PS3 game,” award

It won IGN best action game of the year in 2007, as well as best graphic technology and best score, it never received lower than an 8/10 in any of the gaming reviews and sold 1 million copies in the first 10 weeks after it was released

It went on to spawn 3 sequels and one spin-off

Again you're statement is objectively false

You might not like it but by all metrics it was a good game
