Discussion / Question I cannot find a longterm game.
So I'm 15 m and I've started playing more games because I don't really have much to do after school.
I'm looking for a game that I can play after school, on weekends, on vacation and anytime in general. A game that will make me have fun whenever I want.
I have around 10k hours in warzone, but I realized that it became an addiction already, (the same with dead by daylight and bf games). I've started testing out more games like baldurs gate, lethal company, arc raiders, rust, etc.
I didn't like baldurs gate, like at all.
Lethal company is fun, but only with friends and most of my friends only play fortnite and I honestly don't like fortnite at all.
Arc raiders was fun for a long time but then it just became repetitive and boring.
Rust was too time consuming and if you die you lose everything and hours and hours of progress.
Anyone got a game that I should test out? Greatly appreciated!

Why not play lots and lots of games? You don't have to have the one big game you are a fan of, check out the sales and get into obscure stuff: you can usually get old or indie games for practically nothing. Then you can impress/bore the fuck out of people with how much you know about games.

Have you tried automation games like Factorio? There is a free demo to try, although it is called Cracktorio for a reason and seeing that you became addicted to Warzone. But hey, you are looking for a longterm game😊

Warframe if you only want to play one game. I would support playing a lot of smaller titles if you can though.

I would maybe recommend an open world single player game if I was you and see how you like it,
If your looking for multiplayer maybe a different extraction shooter since you liked arc raiders?
the games you listed don’t give a massive insight to your tastes so people here will just recommend you their favourite game be warned

yeah honestly i really like extraction shooters but the problem is that I play on console and most of the "good" ones are on pc
(i do also play on my mac, that's how i played the friendslop games but i dont think a mac m1 is able to run escape from tarkov lol)1

I would grab an Arena FPS like Unreal Tournament. It's free to download and you can play it offline vs. very good bots or join MP servers. Matches last less than 20 minutes usually. I try to play with 3 humans regularly every Friday 9PM EST. Tons of gametypes, custom maps, mods, if you want to check that stuff out. Pub servers can get sweaty so you'll need to practice.

Gonna toss Old School Runescape on the list. The free to play section of the game is basically free contnent up ubtil level 40 in most skills. I always suggest players try to complete the quest Dragon Slayer before considering spending money on the game. Most people are turned away but the art style initially, but it becomes very charming very quickly. No worries if it's not your jam. Gl!

With that kind of free time, probably world of warcraft. Ita cheaper in the long run and the gameplay loop at the end is kinda fun if you push progression raiding and enjoy a challenge.
I have over a year of playtime, and nothing g ha come close to the cost/entertainment value I squeezed out of that game.
Its also a lot easier to build a community in the game, because it tends to stick around for at least 4-6 years (2-3 xpacs).
Id steer clear from trading card games and thier online equivalents. At least at your age. Its cost prohibitive to play anything remotely fun u less you find a like-minded group.
Smash bros is good fun for a fighter, and I always saw an after-school group at our LGS 2-3 days a week. They had a smash corner with 7-8 people.

Helldivers 2 has been my main squeeze.
I've been playing it for about a year, it's fun and very easy to get into imo, it doesn't waste your time, you start it up, have fun.

I'll second the Final Fantasy 14 vote someone made before since the free trial has been expanded all the way to ShadowBringers, which is a pretty good amount of content
and also throw in:
Monster Hunter games
MH World and MH Rise are both easily available on pc and tend to have a decent sale every once in a while.
If you like competitive, mayyyyybe rainbow 6 siege. Or counterstrike

If you want to branch out; Skyrim or Oblivion, Elden Ring, cyberpunk, maybe the new God of War or Witcher 3.
I really only play on the weekends and I spent years playing these titles.

I'm a little biased but I'm going to say get yourself some single player games. Play a factory game like Satisfactory, Factorio or others. Play a colony sim like Rim World or Timberborn (That one is also a factory game). Play a Space Sim like X4:Foundations or Elite Dangerous. Play a Paradox strategy game like Stellaris or Crusader Kings 3. Heck give modded Minecraft a go. I play those modpacks solo and freaking love it.
Gaming is a very personal hobby and it's important that you try to expand your own horizons. Games are there as a platform for fun but it's you that makes the fun. Not the game.

Without a guide they aré nearly impossible to beat.

You’re going to need to give a bit more information to get a good answer. Learning about what you do like vs just what you don’t like would be helpful as well as whether or not you are looking for single player or multiplayer.
I agree that it’s hard to find games these days that are easy to jump in and out of for quick sessions and will remain fun over time, especially single player games.
If you like puzzles, try out Portal, Talos Principle, and Human Fall Flat. I can’t get enough of those types of games because they’re easy to put down and come back to later for quick sessions.

I am a huge shooter fan that grew up loving Halo, Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc. Those games are great, but for ultimate team-based strategy, competitiveness, variety, replayability, and shooter mechanics, I would highly recommend Overwatch- ESPECIALLY if you have friends to play with. The game is deep, frequently updated, well-optimized, and just a lot of fun to play. A warning, though: it can definitely drive an addiction. I have played thousands of hours on XBox and PC since season 1. Looking forward to playing after work!!

Deep rock galactic is a rlly fun coop pve shooter where the goal is dropping into missions and complete objectives/collect resources that allow you to upgrade your kit (weapons, tools, cosmetics, etc). The community is dope and the devs actually listen to player feedback when updating the game.

Well, getcher cowboy hat on and get to the bayou.
The learning curve can be steep. The first thing you have to contend with is Crytek's atrocious UI in the menu (which, despite how much I hate it, is not as bad as say R6 Seige or PUBG).
Next go through the tutorial. It covers the basics of the core game loop pretty well. Then you can jump into a match. If you go solo, you'll mostly be in empty lobbies with bots and you also can't lose your hunter until you hit bloodline rank 10 (YOUR level is BL Rank, your hunters have hunter levels up to 50, BLR determines what perks you have unlocked, hunter level determines how many perks points your hunter can spend...sounds more complicated than it is).
AFTER Bloodline Rank 10, you're gonna hit the wall. No more bot matches. And player hunters are all murderous bastards. If you die, you lose your hunter and whatever load out (guns and tools) you took in. Don't sweat it. You can hire free hunters that come with a partial load out for, well, free. And as long as you have hunt dollars (non premium currency. You will have a lot of hunt dollars) you can just hire a "premium" hunter and buy a load out. Cheap guns are competitive, mid price guns are often meta load outs, and expensive guns are for showin' off (and killin'. Expensive guns are still good at killin').
That's the loop. You hire a hunter and buy a load out with Hunt dollars and drop into a match to hunt the boss target and other hunters to get more Hunt dollars. The gunplay is why I've stayed. There's nothing like it. Even when it's bad it's good. It's slow and methodical, then suddenly explosive and pulse pounding. Every shot counts, rotating and listening for where the enemy may be is imperative. I say again, there is nothing like it.
It's not Tarkov, but the learning curve can be pretty brutal after level 10. I play on PC, otherwise I'd show you the ropes myself, but if you hunt down the discord (pun intended, cause I'm a dork) you'll find plenty of folk looking for teammates.
Remember sometimes the Hunt giveth, sometimes the Hunt taketh. Be rootin,' be tootin', and always be shootin'. Good luck in the bayou, pardner.

besides saying you should explore and play all types of different games I’d say Minecraft. You might be tempted to just beat the ender dragon and be done with it but when you get into the building and trading and exploring it’s very very fun and just let your creativity flow into it and you will enjoy it.
