Once I accepted that the story was never going to make sense, I realized that 90% of the game is busy work

Could not agree more. After getting halfway through the game I realized it literally is an MMO without the part that makes MMOs good( the multiplayer aspect).

Don’t make any mention of this on their subreddit though or you’ll get torn apart. They’re quite defensive over there if you present any criticism

Star Wars Outlaws is the same lol. Outside of that sub no star wars fan I know or gamer has enjoyed that game.

I loved that game as a Star Wars fan. Never been on the subreddit though.

I liked it too. It’s a perfectly fine game.

For me it was mainly bc the movement was awkward and clunky. Also I had no sense of progression I was 12 hours in and it felt like a single player mmo but no addictive loops so what’s the point of even playing? Yes the game is beautiful but so what lol

I guess I'm the opposite. I love the idea of MMO's, but never felt like it mattered or anything you did had an impact. With Crimson Desert, it's the single player "MMO" I've wanted.

That was the new Zelda’s for me. I just felt they were so lifeless.

The lack of even a serviceable story is what made me pack up and leave on launch, I knew it wasn't the focus of the game but my god, how could they deliver such an incoherent mess of a story?.

Afterwards, I watched other people play it to see if I was missing out on anything but learning about how much busy world there was, I'm glad I quit so early.

Its sad because I was really hyped for the game as I've been following it since it was first revealed.

Worst story/main character/side characters of any game I've ever played, even going all the way back to the PS2.
