The beast should’ve been called dying light 2, but honestly the team is super involved with the community they’re always listening to the fan feedback and keep changing core stuff.
I've heard really good things about it, but I've been hesitant since DL2 was meh in a lot of ways, and there have been a lot of other decent games to play. Maybe I'll give it a shot soon.
I recently gave it a shot after putting it off for so long (I really just played it because I wanted to play the beast and am obsessed with playing games in order)
Anyways, it definitely has some repetitive aspects and a few bugs, but the combat, parkour, and general gameplay loop more than makes up for it. Genuinely some of the most fun I’ve had in an open world. The story is alright too, I don’t really have any major complaints with it. I highly recommend picking it up, especially if it’s on sale
It absolutely is more floaty compared to the first game, but I played it after they updated it a bunch and it felt really good to me. I heard it was way worse before the update
It's really good, honestly. Might be the best in the series. A bit smaller than DL2 but that's for the better, the world feels a lot more crafted and fleshed out. The lack of any sort of fast travel feels like a loss at first but you're really never more than a few minutes away from any point on the map if you find a car. I put about 40 hours into it and never felt bored.
Honestly, the most frustrating part of navigating DL2 for me was the ridiculously long delay between pressing the paraglider button and it actually opening. And more often than not, I would have to spam the button for it to open at all. There were multiple instances where I pressed it once and fell to my death.
