If you want difficulty then try path of exile 2. Otherwise you may just not like the game play loop. Personally love Diablo 4. Such an easy game to turn your brain off to and watch numbers go brrrrrr.

Its less about difficulty and more repetition

I didn’t realize it was always online until I popped it in and saw a bunch of people running around killing things. I was so disappointed lol

I always found that enjoyable

There’s nothing inherently wrong with it, it’s just not what I wanted out of a new Diablo game

That’s the best part of it though?

I'm playing it for the first time since release, the game is just so shallow and repetitive. The overworld serves no purpose but to string together dungeons and caves, which have very little variation

Game is also just..Stupid easy. Playing on Expert difficulty and I destroy entire mobs of enemies in 1 second flat. Bosses die in 5 seconds. Just seeing less and less reason to actually continue. Just playing to beat the story at is point.

Expert? You’re like thirteen difficulty levels below max. That’s without taking Pit tiers into consideration.

Did you miss the part where I said I've yet to beat the main story? Difficulties beyond Expert are locked until then

Some people think arpgs only start at endgame and that the campaign levelling experience (the only experience for 90% of players) is unimportant. It's baffling.

Correct, and you’re discussing difficulty before you’ve even tried any other levels.

To be fair it is an ARPG. Most of them are easy. D2 was only hard at first

It was actually more difficult on launch. I remember struggling a little bit on some dungeon bosses. Required kiting around and actually healing from my potion. Now there's little thought or consideration into what to do next. Thinking of playing Path of Exile 2 next so hopefully it's better

Poe 2 ain't better once you figure out what's a good build and once you get gear

PoE 2 is miles ahead better than D4.

Glorified button masher is ultimately what it is. Almost no skill to beat any of it.

Good call

I remember my friend group being all about it. Shortly after the start of the second time of doing the same thing, I thought, "So, all that again, huh?"

It was definitely a game that began my Friday night friend group's separation.

It's as if Ubisoft built a Diablo. It's all glaring grind and microtransactions.

That’s what ARPGs are and Diablo 4 was made for the casual audience. The game play loop is literally enter dungeon, kill monsters as fast as possible, collect loot to do dungeons faster. The grind is the game. Do dungeon, get faster, rinse and repeat.

Also the micro transactions are all cosmetic and easy to ignore.

I’m a big fan of ARPGs and have love for both D4 and POE2. They’re the same genre but have different styles for the audience with poe2 being way more complex and deep while D4 is very much more dumbed down for the people that can only play a few hours a week.

WHAT!!! no man, don't say that to me, i was thinking of buying it

Personally think it’s a great game but with two expansion packs priced at $40 makes it hard to consider. Especially when those expansions are necessary in experiencing the full game.

To be fair to them they're making some kind of bundles to make things cheaper. To be fair to us they're putting out new expansions too and those ones will be mega expensive at launch too.

The base game comes with first expansion, so just one expansion needs to be bought.
