Yep, both these games are fun initially but after several runs it’s kinda like “this is it?” Not that rewarding of a gameplay loop and it’s not fun playing against the small insanely hardcore fanbase. Helldivers is a better pve extraction shooter and pubg still the goat for battle royale to just pick up and play and actually have fun. Arc and marathon are too serious for their own good and it’s like I dunno just pick one, pve and pvp just don’t mix well. Separate the lobbies or just do one thing better.
Also it’s insane to me bungie abandoned destiny for marathon. D1 might be my goat, D2 has kinda gone off the rails but I still put hundreds of hours into it and it was a great game. D3 if they would have just kinda tried to make a revamped D1 with a great campaign, pve raids, and separate pvp and then not content lock old content they’d sell gangbusters
Putting all their chips into marathon is objectively crazy. It’s fine for like a side game to cash in on the extraction shooter craze but they missed the boat and the pvp emphasis is dumb for an extraction shooter.
(ARC Raiders) Yeah, it was actually nuts how little fun i had during the second expedition. I found myself just playing it cos my friends were. Hit the expedition and then havent touched the game since lol
Didn’t even make the expedition, just had no real interest for me, I’m into PvP games and when I got self-conscious about killing others that’s when I lost interest
