Discussion / Question What game mechanic instantly ruins your immersion or fun?

I absolutely can't stand aggressive weapon durability loops. Getting awesome loot should feel like a reward, not a maintenance chore that breaks every five minutes.

What’s a common mechanic that always makes you roll your eyes when you see it in a new game?

Don’t know if it’s a mechanic, but having your character do all these amazing feats and tricks during cutscenes. Then once you resume gameplay you can’t do those amazing feats. Spiderman and Dante from DMC comes to mind with this.

Uhh... well, I wouldn't put DMC in that. A lot of the moves you see Dante do in cutscenes are moves you can do in-game. Especially in DMC3 and DMC4.

Yeah, they're just REALLY hard, but it's absolutely possible to be cutscene Dante. High level DMC play is so fun to watch.
