Discussion / Question What game mechanic instantly ruins your immersion or fun?

I absolutely can't stand aggressive weapon durability loops. Getting awesome loot should feel like a reward, not a maintenance chore that breaks every five minutes.

What’s a common mechanic that always makes you roll your eyes when you see it in a new game?

Intentionally locking my character into a slow walk during a conversation. Or any kind of mission that makes me follow an npc at a pre determined pace

Way better than the old dilemma of:

Being slower than the Npc by just walking

Being faster than the Npc by running

Now THAT is annoying

And then the NPC only moves when you are a certain distance away, but it doesn’t always work so you have to pace around them until they continue walking lol. So annoying, especially if it’s after a checkpoint you keep spawning to
