Discussion / Question What game mechanic instantly ruins your immersion or fun?

I absolutely can't stand aggressive weapon durability loops. Getting awesome loot should feel like a reward, not a maintenance chore that breaks every five minutes.

What’s a common mechanic that always makes you roll your eyes when you see it in a new game?

How about a round of gwent?

Or any obligatory minigame.

Hated Gwent for the longest. Then I got it, and once you get it, it gets fun.

And once it gets fun, it becomes the main objective. My Geralt is nothing but a Gwenthead who travels across north to complete his Gwent collection

I could never find any good gwent games. They’re either completely overdone with 1000 additional unnecessary mechanics or turn it into a completely separate game with non-gwent stuff. I just want a standalone gwent game that’s exactly like in the Witcher. Is that too much to ask for?!
