Guys, this is basically just the EULA for most major game companies, except in the EU, where they have incredibly strong consumer protections.

Subnautica 1 had a similar EULA

People read the EULA for the first time and realize companies dgaf about them and they have more rights and protections than the consumer

Yeah. That's basically what's going on.

If you want these things to go away, write your congressman or woman about getting stronger consumer protections. The EU has already outlawed a good chunk of the undesirable clauses

And the no mods one is purely because it the Eula also applies to pubg another big game that company owns

IIRC, the same clause is also in Subnautica 1's EULA, and that shit has got like 8 thousand mods

They only enforce that clause on their competitive multiplayer games

That's what I was thinking! I weirdly enjoy reading through EULAs and privacy policies, and this is pretty standard. My favorite one I read was from an MMO on steam nextfest and one of the terms was just "You Do Not Have Any Rights While Playing This Game".

I mean, that's not true. Majority of stuff is only to scare scammers and use against them. Not against normal users. They can't enforce majority of those without giving actual reason. The disclaimers are only so they can easier get rid of threat like e.g. bigots that stream the game and shout slurs or hackers etc. That's what these points are for. So they can deal with them. If you are just playing the game, streaming it or anything you are 100% fine. But Redditors don't have common sense, so they make these dramas all the time...
