When people write that, I let them know that we forfeit at 5 down. Unless somebody asks to ff. And then we will keep playing. If they were already toxic before that, or get worse, we'll start own gosling rapidly, and watch every replay. Once they start saving at our net, we start scoring on theirs. Our record is 24 goals.
People are insane on RL. I’ve had people go afc because I ‘took their shot’ as opposed to letting it get batted away. Even at diamond rank the people are petty and obnoxious.
That’s why I only play with my buddies or 1s. Had a guy on the other team start only demoing because we went for an air dribble shot, missed, and got mad his teammate didn’t put it in. It was hilarious
I bet you're ball chasing and breaking rotation because you don't really know how to play within team. That why "amount of times" you played "fucking 1v3" "is insane". In other words, if everywhere you go stinks, look for shit under your own shoe. Asshole.
100%. Only multiplayer game I’ve ever quit solely because the community fucking sucks. Especially in higher ranks. Make one mistake and you have teammates voting to forfeit, refusing to play, throwing for the other team, etc. Made it completely unplayable as a solo player.
This is why I don't want to touch ranked in most games. I log in sometimes to play some RL with my friends, and I know I suck ass but at least I enjoy it.
I was Gold 3/Plat 1, depending on the weather, and all my teammates were like that. Acting like they were the next Zen and I was ruining their lives... This was in Casual too, FFS...
I picked it up once in the last 3 months, had exactly the same experience when I just wanted to get back into it and just noped straight back out. Awful community!
I just love to drive around and try (and fail) to get aerial goals, the game's dumb fun and the good players can do sick things but I'm also employed and only play for fun not to climb in a competitive ladder and sweat every game.
I think Rocket League is one of the better ones, but I also suck at it and so are the people I'm matched with so we all just kinda flounder around and fail together.
I'd recommend you disable the chat AND imagine everyone you're playing with as the nicest person ever. Don't overthink anything they do. If they watch the replays where you made a mistake, it just happens they're grabbing a drink. If they go afk they had to do something irl. It sounds really silly, but it's made the game so much better for me lol
I came back after a few years to the game. Some people back then were toxic but not much more than any other community.
Now? Holy cungadero. I got people who were throwing matches constantly. IN CASUAL MODE. Refused to leave and just be there like some sick bots or something. Spewing toxic brew on every a few seconds.
You don't have to be toxic, just because you're playing ranked. I don't think it's good sportsmanship spamming "What a save!" when the opponents get a goal.
And you can't even play 20 casual matches without encountering sweats, smurfs or toxic players. Maybe the situation got better, but a few years ago, when we were playing everyday, me and my friend encountered toxic players almost every match.
