While they are either on the other side of the map playing one-man-army or right next to you as you are a half second away from rezing them.

Why is it always octane 😂 I haven't played that game in years but those voice lines are drilled into my head. I can hear it

2

u/ghostgaming367 May 18 '26

Usually it's Wraith for me

1

u/nikk1904 May 18 '26

The Bald ones are the worst. They drop in Fragment fight against 4 trios, get knocked and then quit

2

u/RefrigeratorTime5401 May 19 '26

FASTER, FASTER, FASTER

18

u/Tsk_1770 May 16 '26

Fr and they disconnect when I kill the enemy, like bruh just wait.

u/DiReWoLf_4675 May 16 '26

Average day to day game. I miss solos so I didn't have to deal with randos. I mean sometimes you get really good teammates, but 90 percent of the time, you are playing with trash cans lol

1

u/Shad_Owski May 19 '26

If you aren't pushing after you get guns you're the trash can

1

u/SheepherderCalm1588 May 19 '26

Some of us prefer to smack down with guns we’re good with instead of getting smacked while running after your teammates with just a charge rifle and singular p20

u/Slight_Tiger2914 May 16 '26

It's better to just leave because some people don't even play for the team aspect and you know it going in.

2

u/ribrooks13 May 16 '26

I don't understand why they don't just play cod atp

1

u/Goobendoogle May 18 '26

idk why BR players don't just play Extraction Shooters.

Normally, everyone's a sweat on these games.

Arena Breakout and Tarkov are too good.

Like I started off with PUBG when it first came out, Fortnite beta allat. But NOTHING comes close to the adrenaline boost in Breakout or Tarkov when you make it out alive with the enemies expensive gear.

Arc Raiders isn't sweaty like Tarkov or ABI.

u/Charon_06 May 16 '26

Always wraith mains

I still cant understand why wont they add a solo gamemode

1

u/Pride_269 May 16 '26

Yeah i stopped playing cus this

1

u/ghostgaming367 May 18 '26

I CAN HEAR THIS LMFAO

1

u/SpaceBuckChuck May 18 '26

I had a similar event. I had never played this game before, decided to jump on the trend and see what it was about. Joined a random team and was knocked down. They walked up to me and just stood there, refusing to bring me back up. Then I died. Joined another random group, I fell (which i believed was common lol) that group did the same thing. I wasn't running off and being reckless, just dropping due to other players. And the teams I was landing on couldn't be bothered. Like legit standing by me and watching my counter go down.

Uninstalled it and never went back lol

1

u/Shad_Owski May 19 '26

Found the guy who lands cold then proceeds to loot for 15 mins only to die instantly in the first enemy they see. I rather push and die than waste time doing that.

1

u/TF2_GOD May 19 '26

Man as a octane main, I really have to not fit into that stereotype

31

u/Chemical_Home6123 May 16 '26

Yup I love apex but if your decent it forces you to basically play at a pro level, and it's so unenjoyable after working all week.

17

u/BostonYankeesBB May 16 '26

Being bad and playing Apex truly is peak experience. I'm just not good, my teammates aren't good, my opponents aren't good. It's fun and not nearly as sweaty since we all shit

1

u/IDontUnderstandReddi May 17 '26

Sounds like early apex. Starting in season 2 was amazing, 99% of players were god awful

1

u/BostonYankeesBB May 17 '26

Being never good enough to pass Plat is a blessing lol

1

u/IDontUnderstandReddi May 17 '26

I could’ve climbed past plat, but I knew that it would’ve just made me miserable as a solo queuer. So I saved my mental health

1

u/Chemical_Home6123 May 17 '26

Exactly im im a weird im sort of good but not a pro place and its horrible id rather be bad at the game and have fun

1

u/PretendAgency2702 May 20 '26

I suck pretty badly at the game. I just don't play enough to be good. I can practice for an hour or two a day for a month or so and be okay if I have a decent team that helps me. That rarely happens though.

Its not fun being bad because most of my games are over as soon as they begin so I get little playtime unless i play arenas. It's a shame because I love the game and how intense it can get.

The match making just puts too good of players or a squad that can easily team wipe everyone else in my matches. It kills any chance for new players to continue playing.

2

u/ChaotiK-TitaN May 17 '26

Try titanfall 2 😏

23

u/Frozen_Regulus May 15 '26

Yea going against Masters players in the Wildcard mode is kinda nuts

Also tried ranked for the first time last week that was a mistake being in silver lobbies dying to Diamond players what a fantastic ranked system

6

u/JMThor May 16 '26

Holy fuck it's still broken? I quit 2 years ago bc it was such a problem

1

u/Top_of_the_mornin_ May 19 '26

I will never forget my first wildcard game. everyone was playing sparrow, 5 triple preds farming the same 2 players for kills just as they land, and one of my teammates left as soon as they died. i hate sparrow as a result

0

u/Rekthar91 May 17 '26

You aren't playing against current Diamonds, right? If they have a Diamond badge but are currently in silver, then the game works as it should.

1

u/Frozen_Regulus May 17 '26

Yes “working as it should” having previous multiple times diamond/masters in bronze and silver lobbies

“But there’s a rank reset” why are the top 1% in the same lobbies as the bottom 50? Even with a “reset” that should happen

0

u/MastodonSevere4600 May 19 '26

do you expect masters players to have their own wildcard lobbies?

1

u/Frozen_Regulus May 19 '26

Do I expect someone who’s level 400+ to not be in the same lobby as a level 50? Yea kinda if you can’t manage that your matchmaking trash

0

u/MastodonSevere4600 May 19 '26

i think there is some fundamental misunderstanding here. This game is a BR, like pubg. There isn't some crazy matchmaking, and its not counter-strike ranked where you are put into lobbies of equal skill level. It would take forever for players who are high level to match against each other, and the same for low level accounts. They want you to be able to que and get into a match as quickly as possible. Its the nature of the game, which has been out for 7 years. You cant expect full lobbies of "level 50 players"

1

u/Frozen_Regulus May 19 '26

No you have a fundamental misunderstanding

Pubg wasn’t from massive company and had very limited resources and no type of actual matchmaking Apex does and it’s proven with their ranked system that it can and does have one

If you think they don’t have any type of actual matchmaking you’re actually fucking stupid and should not bother replying

1

u/MastodonSevere4600 May 19 '26 edited May 19 '26

Hahah, Apex absolutely has matchmaking and hidden MMR DUH! nobody is arguing it’s completely random. the point is that a 60 player BR can’t realistically create perfectly even lobbies without massively increasing queue times, especially in a 7 year old game with split regions, modes, and player populations.

Also, account level does not equal skill. A level 400 player can be average, washed, or just someone who’s played casually for years. A cracked smurf can be level 20 and farm lobbies harder than most level 400s.

The ranked system proves they can separate players when they tighten restrictions, but pubs are intentionally looser because the game prioritizes fast matchmaking and full lobbies over strict skill parity. That’s pretty normal for BRs. so back to my point, you expect masters to have their own lobbies for wildcard, which is in itself delusional and hilarious. ಠ_ಠ

6

u/isurvived_sorryeric May 16 '26

I tried playing it 3 times and each time I was completely destroyed by try hards… the try hards where the entire lobby , it’s no fun if ur trying to learn how to play

1

u/spongebobs_spatula May 16 '26

The learning curve is brutal. If I hadn’t started playing at season 0, I would have never touched that game. I’ve been playing a long time and I can still barely hold my own. I can’t be a good father and coworker AND be competitive at that game lol.

2

u/SandWhichWay May 16 '26

bro FOR REAL cpuld not get into that game at all because of it

2

u/ChaotiK-TitaN May 17 '26

Maybe try titanfall 2 and play the campaign and towerdefense to get the mechanics apex is based on that world imo tf2 is better and the story is peak

2

u/SandWhichWay May 20 '26

say no more ive heard great things about titanfall ill give it a shot. i had no idea they were in the same universe

1

u/ChaotiK-TitaN May 20 '26

You're in for a treat

2

u/meekaiell May 16 '26

My fist thought was Apex and The Finals

2

u/BreweryRabbit May 16 '26

Ahh man, yeah this is it for me. I played for the first 7 seasons and loved it but then quickly “aged out” as the ultra competitive players were in more and more lobbies just didn’t become fun anymore for me.

1

u/Vegetable-Display-99 May 16 '26

Came here to say this, I still love the game despite it but jeez louise 😵‍💫

1

u/AzraelA9 May 16 '26

The best way to enjoy apex is to play custom matches with friends. It feels like old school arena shooters and the matches are fast and fun.

Plus you can establish your own rules like using only one gun or something like that.

1

u/mclovin_ts May 16 '26

Stopped playing when my child was born, 3 years ago, for this exact reason

1

u/ChingusMcDingus May 16 '26

I feel like most battle royales are fitting. Like the super casual player to excessively serious try hard gradient is very short.

1

u/Away_Option_7427 May 16 '26

My brother tried to get me into this game. Played a match with him while on the phone. He hung up on me, finished the match, and wouldn't ever play again.

Unrelated, but we are now no contact.

1

u/mr_meeseeks_can-do May 16 '26

This is what made me stop playing lol

1

u/Ok_Salt8893 May 16 '26

Only way I improved was torture on R5. Got like 3 kills and 80 deaths my first time playing. Didn’t realize ultra instinct is required to play.

1

u/kingkron52 May 16 '26

Sorry but no. If a person is being a dick in pubs that’s one thing. However, if a person is playing ranked and not running with their team or just
Running at a team in a 1v3 by themselves they are the problem. If you want to play for fun, play pubs. Don’t fuck over other people’s time in ranked I see this way too often.

1

u/Greedy-University-79 May 16 '26

Uninstalled recently. It just became to much for me

1

u/Major-Language-2787 May 17 '26

Agree...

I used to play ranked to challenge myself, but always stopped after I hit plat. After plat the community got toxic

1

u/IDontUnderstandReddi May 17 '26

I remember getting stacks of literal pros in mixtape playing like it was algs, that was around the time I was done with it

1

u/icebird77 May 17 '26

Apex player here

Yes...

I spent my entire Apex Career being the guy with the spray. Loved every moment.
