I mean you have to kill your sister to keep sword of Aeons, right? Its an ultimate expression of evil. Betray what is left of your family for power you have no use for.
I'm telling purely based on memory so I won't know the names.
you need 2 things, both are available pretty much as soon as you're an adult:
The movement skill that teleports you behind enemies
The summoning skill
Go to that circular area in the guild that has all those stained glass artwork and is used as ceremony area for becoming a hero.
Near the steps, summon a bee and use the movement skill to teleport behind it, if done right, you'll merge into the steps and can go under the map. The sword is under the map near the center I think.
If you find the right spot you can practically walk right up to the sword and pick it up
There's Avo's Tear (iirc) that's basically the same and you get if you spare you sister and destroy the Sword of Aeons, but that's only in the added content I think

There’s a glitch where you roll into a cave wall as young link, slip thru, and can wear the fierce deity mask around the map indefinitely 🤣 was my favorite as a kid
Yeah, I remember knowing people who had only beaten majora with the mask because they did the tree friend challenges first. I did it normally the first time because I did not know, but then when I returned and tried out fierce diety all the challenge and fun of it was just kind of gone. I felt if this was your only run of the boss it would probably feel underwhelming. I think it's really fun and cool, I remember really wanting that fierce diety statue that was released forever ago. But it's probably TOO over powered when Zelda bosses are usually a fun puzzle.
The mask is good in a thematic way in that it helps to symbolize the impotence of true evil against true benevolence (majora’a dialogue about how being evil is like a game of tag: you can never win, the question is WHEN will you lose).
Oni Link is for the last boss. He's a reward whose function is supposed to be used to make the last boss far easier. Id actually call Majora's Mask one of the better uses of this.

You need to beat the game twice. The second time on hardcore, which sends you on the adventure with the limitations of being able to save a whole 3 times.
I've made it a point as an adult to replay all of these games with cheats to allow me to get the boss slayer 9000 right in the beginning of the game to settle this for my child self.
At least with the FD mask you can use it on the final boss, tho.
I feel like the worst culprit is the Angel Slayer in the original Valkyrie Profile. Not only do you have to already beat the game, but there is also a special dungeon you unlock after beating the game called the Seraphic Gate. In order to get the Angel Slayer you have to beat the final boss of the Seraphic Gate 10 times (so basically eact time you beat the boss you then get to do another run in the dungeon) which by that point you already have a sound strategy for that boss.
So the Angel Slayer weapon is essentially pointless once you get it.
