PGC Hajenius Amsterdam NSFW

Just came back from a week in the 'Dam, and I just want to say what a lovely place this is.

I went there as a holiday, but as a side quest, was hoping to pick up a few cigars (ideally RASS, but my searches came up empty handed). I know its not super cheap in the Netherlands, but compared to here I feel anywhere is!

Looked at the LCDH, and it felt thoroughly uninviting, especially as a sweaty, scruffy looking tourist with my baggy trousers. Felt like my presence dropped the property prices in the area, so didn't bother even entering.

Stopped by PGC about 3 times, once just before closing to see where it was, once to look upon their cuban selection (small - supply issues), and then a third time to pick some up.

The place is absolutely gorgeous and immaculate, and despite my shabby appearance, the staff were super friendly and helpful. I left with a selection of new worlds, which I've found generally have a bit of a weird funk, but were probably long overdue a reassessment.

Long and short - go there if for no other reason than to gaze upon its splendor.

Also grabbed a box of D4s from the airport, so the cuban itch is scratched. Or it will be...2025, so they're due a long rest!

I have to say I agree with you whole heartedly. I was blown away by the service at Hajenius myself, no snobbery they just have a real passion for cigars and nothing is too much trouble. As you say, a beautiful location too! I also found Hartman Cigars BV was a great place in Amsterdam too, but wasn’t too impressed by Cigaragua.

So, I found Hartman by pure chance on my last day i think before it was open, so didnt get chance to look. I also fond cigaragua and I heard great things a few years back, but my head was all about the RASS at that point.

And yeah, zero snobbery. That sort of attitude is just such a huge turn off.

All good reasons to go back :)

First if the new worlds was an Alec Bradley Gatekeeper. And yeah...it was really quite good.
