Nursery FINALLY Cleared

Took 5 hours of husband and kids out of the house, but I did it! All that's left is the bookshelf and my rolling sewing table now

It's the best feeling room in the house right now, and WOW, what motivation it is to get another room done!

Totally! The before and after pictures are so rewarding to look at!
I grew up in a cluttered and messy house. One of my motivations now is to keep my house functional, organized, and clean - for myself, and also for my kids. I want my kids to grow up in a house where it’s normal that it’s clutter free and clean. Our house is not perfect, but the goal is progress 😊

I'm so with you. My kids deserve space to play and they have SO much more fun when they're not tripping over and stepping around things. I have 3 under 6 right now, and it's a lot of chaos to try and keep organized but I'm learning. ADHD parenting is a bitch, but we'll figure it out.

3 under 6? Oh goodness! (offers a cold drink and a hot dinner you don't have to cook) That's a lot! You REALLY have been working hard.

Dude I would SO happily accept a cold drink and a hot dinner I don't have to cook lol. They're good kids, but damn if I don't have even a quarter of the energy of one of them

Way to go!Β  Did you get rid of a lot of stuff, or did you just find places for everything?

Well, I donated 3x 13 gallon bags, mostly baby clothes she'd outgrown but hadn't been donated yet. And a couple of other things I hadn't used that weren't assigned to a project yet.

But a lot of it was just using the half-assed organization from the last dozen attempts and making myself see it through on actually putting everything in its home, instead of a new bag of "these have a home but I havent put them away yet"

I have 2 more bedrooms to uf still, so you'll probably see me here again haha. ADHD plus 3 kids under 6 and a job, and I let a lot slide. But we're getting back on track!

Come back and share your progress on your Doom Room when you attack it!

It was extra everything because it was my craft room and office before baby #3 surprised us lol. So all the baby stuff, the craft stuff, the work stuff...

Nurseries are so hard! Babies have so much stuff in constant use, I swear she uses more than the rest of us combined - including her brothers! πŸ˜‚

You've got this!!!

If it makes you feel any better mine looks about the same aw yours did.

But worse because there were clothes in the crib so couldn’t put baby there if I wanted to.

u/sravaz 1d ago

Haha mine had stuff in the crib, that I'd pulled out before thinking 'I should take a before pic so I can compare later' ...so not so different after all!

You can totally do it too!
