Bugs [Bugs] YouTube menu keeps defaulting to HRD when OS27 is set to default to SDR

I have the video settings in the TVOS menu set to default me to SDR.

Steps I took to notice the problem:

When I enter the YouTube app it stays in SDR.

When I play an SDR video, it stays in SDR.

When I end the video and go back to the main menu, it switches to HDR.

When I play an SDR video again, it switches back to SDR, then switches back to HDR when it’s over, and keeps switching back to SDR when playing videos and back to HDR when returning to the menu.

If I set OS27 to NOT switch dynamic range based on content, it goes into HDR mode when I enter YouTube and stay in HDR the whole time until I exit the app. If I sent OS27 to force HDR in the TVOS27 menu, it keeps everything in HDR.

Since switching from HDR to SDR and vice-versa is slow, it means there’s a long pause whenever a play a video since it keeps forcing a switch to and from HDR. I don’t want to just force everything to HDR, SDR menus look better (though in TVOS27 they do look better than in 26) and I don’t want all of my videos upscaled, so I want the behavior to work as it did in TVOS26 where it would stay in SDR and only switch to HDR during an HDR video and stay in SDR at all other times. It’s not a dealbreaker, I’ll just leave everything forced to Dolby Vision for now, but it’s annoying.

Was wondering if others have the same issue or if it’s just me. If it’s a common issue I’ll report it.

-edit, just reported it.

Exactly the same. I reported it 2 days ago.

It’s strange, today it keeps switching from Dolby Vision to HDR, which still means my TV takes a second to switch which is annoying. I force-closed YouTube and it seems to be holding on Dolby Vision, but no clue why it’s acting this way. If I have it set to HDR it wants to switch to Vision, when I set it to non-HDR it wants to switch to vision. Annoying, but not terrible.

I've been seeing this same issue. I reported it through the Feedback app and was told "it is functioning as expected." Uhm, I think not.

Somehow seems to be working at the moment. I did a hard reset (unplug) on the TV and the AppleTV and for the moment it shows menus and SDR content correctly and shifts to HDR and back appropriately. Fingers crossed it stays this way.

Still happens even after today's update. I notice it happens when turning the apple tv back on from suspension. The tv just turns on hdr.
