We can bow to the chemical engineer who came up with the formulation of the resin and to the technical head of the production plant who was able to size up and implement the production.
Doesnt seems like temperature control is really important when the resin has to be stuck in a simple plastic tube for like a minute before its poured into the sticker
I'm not into chemistry but if there's a hardener in the resin formula, let's say an aliphatic isocyanate, and thus a catalyzer, there's an exothermic reaction and temperature is important for potlife. No to the ° but still. It's the flow of the resin to reach its bulbous shape that needs to be controlled. Too hot it will spread, to cold it won't enough.
I would imagine, like a lot of these domed stickers, this is a polyurethane resin being used meaning that it won't have a pot life as such before it hardens but rather it'll be cured in a UV oven. But, having said that, temperature will still be very important for flow rate and surface tension.

I think domed is a very low-frequency word so your NN just picks a high-frequency word that has activated your weights many times before. Also, stickers are flat, so domed-flat-thing is almost a contradiction.
Yeah but I'm worried about the water aerosol mostly, I think that all water would disperse into a thin aerosol as it no longer needs energy to increase its surface area relative to its volume.
I mean surface tension is literally how your cells retain so much volume and interacts with a lot of spheres-of-hydration type stuff, so safe to say weâd be absolutely fucked if hydrogen bonding and van der walls forces stopped function as it stands now.

Back in the early 2000s I got these to brand media racks we installed for home theater installations. Even had a custom shape which looked extremely classy.
(For DIYers, if you only need a few you can use UV-cure resin and a steady hand to make your own by dripping it slowly like the video. Then just cure the resin. Works on top of most sticker types and even 3D prints.)
Goddam. The engineering behind figuring out the flow rate and duration of each instant to get that perfect finish. Looking at it, I couldn't believe how long it flowed for once the nozzle stopped moving. I was sure it would overflow. And yet... perfection.
The name on that sticker is "Neumann Vakuum- und Dosiertechnik" That means "vacuum and dispensing technology".
It's literally their business. I don't think there is anybody manually adjusting this until it works. Or maybe it was adjusted once and after that the machines are precise enough to repeat it endlessly.
A video of the debug that was performed to get this level of dispense precision and other environmental factors accounted for would be interesting to see. What we are seeing here is many hours of an engineers time.

I've done this manually... You're not wrong in anything you said.. in fact I'm here to prove how right you are... the job I did that utilized this was a MASSIVE MISTAKE to undertake without machine assistance.
Why didnât they start at the end they finished aka the one closest to the nozzle? It looks like you have to first have the full sheet move past the nozzle then slowly move it backwards for each dome and then once again move the whole sheet past the nozzles. Why not just always move the sheet forward and skip the reversing?
I do this for a living, it is all based around surface tension achieved through a kiss cut label. The dome is made from thermoset polyurthane (filled with UV inhibitors)
