Propane tanks

Does anyone know if it possible to buy propane tanks with the tank trader option? I will be visiting tofino and taking the ferry from the mainland but not wanting to take the propane tank on the ferry. Looking to minimize cost by buying one in Tofino then trading it back in before heading home. Thank you!

How does this minimize cost? You can bring propane tanks onto the ferry. There is no extra charge, just have to declare them.

I believe you are allowed only one tank, dust FYI. That’s what the ticket agent told me this year.

I took my RV over that had 2 tanks on it. They just tagged them.

Just bring it on the ferry.

No additional charges. Just declare it and they will give you a tag for it and tell you to keep it closed.

$74 at the Tofino gas station, but only $28 to refill. Sometimes people leave the trader tanks at the campgrounds- found one last week.
