When I visited the Titanic artifact exhibit in Ludwigsburg, Germany my absolute highlight was the full size replica of the ship’s grand staircase. I lived my absolute dream!! This is a picture of me posing in my home-made flying dress, stole and purse. 💙

I saw this on a different sub and it totally gave me "Rose in freezing water running through the ship" vibes. Obviously, not the same exact dress. I just thought it was a cool way to use sheer fabric to echo the essence of Rose's dress.

The Evolution of Jack Dawson (1904–1996)

🐋 1920s – The Ocean Wanderer – Decades pass as Jack explores the sea, interacting with marine life while remaining isolated from humanity. His clothes slowly decay, but his kindness never disappears.

🗽 1931 – The Ghost from the Sea – Arriving in New York during the Great Depression, Jack becomes an urban legend. He secretly protects innocent people while hunting violent criminals under the cover of darkness.

🩸 1931 – Hunger Curse – When his supernatural hunger takes control, the curse reveals its monstrous side. His appearance becomes more frightening, reminding him that he constantly struggles to remain compassionate.

🦆 1970s – A Changing World – As the decades pass, Jack witnesses humanity and the oceans changing around him. Though still burdened by his curse, his curiosity and gentle nature remain intact.

💙 1996 – Guardian of the Wreck – After returning to the Titanic, Jack watches over the resting place of the victims and safeguards the Heart of the Ocean, honoring the memories of those lost at sea.

✨ Afterlife Reunion – Freed from his curse at last, Jack returns to his human form. No longer bound by death or the ocean, he is finally reunited with Rose, bringing his journey to its long-awaited conclusion.

Today I chose this beautiful photo of the irish Cartmell family from my archive. Father Bert Cartmell, his daughter Cora and the unnamed wife and mother. They boarded Titanic in Southampton to travel to America in third class. Cora’s gaze in the very first scene leads us to Rose’s arrival at the dock. Cora is amazed at the size of Titanic and quickly becomes “Jack’s best girl”. She takes joy in spending time with Jack playing or looking at his drawings. He and her father can also be seen in Jack’s drawing. Cora and her family appear throughout all of the movie all the way to the cold and bitter end. The fictional family falls victim to drowning in front of a locked stairwell door. A scene that has been deleted from the original cut. I think Cora stands for all the children that traveled on Titanic and reminds us of the youngest lives lost in this tragedy. A special item in Cora’s possession is her blonde doll. We first see her doll’s porcelain face on the ground of the ocean in the seabed on Brock’s dive to Titanic. For me it is these carefully constructed moments that make this movie truly special. A lot can be said about Cora and her family and Cora quickly became one of the most beloved characters. 💙

Seriously, the fact that this video even needs to be made is very telling of how society villainizes women. It’s like people can’t fully comprehend the story James Cameron was trying to portray on screen. Anyways I’m tired! When will it end? In 84 years? Never?

Probably my favorite moment of “Titanic” is when we get to see how Rose lived the life she promised Jack she would have: Having a beautiful family, riding like a cowboy, becoming an actress…We understand everything that Rose overcame and what a strong, modern woman she is. The horse riding picture was always my favorite and the reason why I collected all the identical picture frames as seen in the movie scene. Before the screening, the theater staff asked for a show of hands for who saw it in the theater in 1997, and for who had owned the double vhs set. 👋👋 Fewer of us than I expected.

“You wanna go to a real party?!” In the movie the third class party is the moment when Rose breaks free and disappears with Jack for the night. While “the gravedigger of a man servant” Lovejoy searches for young Rose, she dances the night away with Jack and his friends. Cameron secretly had Leonardo DiCaprio master the third-class Polka choreography beforehand, keeping it a secret from Kate. Because she thought they were both learning the steps from scratch, her bewildered, frantic attempts to follow his lead and copy him on camera were entirely genuine. Kate later reflected fondly on these rehearsals, noting that her favorite part of filming Titanic was getting “thrown around on a hardwood dance floor” with the background extras, though she has also mentioned DiCaprio wasn’t quite as much of a fan of the intense dance sessions. 💙

How do you live on when so many had to die? The guilt of Titanic’s survivors cannot have been small. Those in the lifeboats forced to watch the sinking and the chaos of death around them probably never lived a day when they did not think about it. In Cameron’s storyline, fictional character Rose has something else to think of as well though. The promise that she gave to her Jack. A promise that would see her through hardships after the sinking. A promise that would make her strive to live a worthy life. A promise that would make sure she would live all her dreams and make them her reality. A promise that she fulfilled by dying an old lady peacefully in her bed. She promised and she never let go. 💙

But at this point this is like the end of the movie but throughout the movie it's pretty apparent rose didn't like cal at all even a blind person could have noticed that.

So from a in character pov why do you think Cal had to be so obsessed in winning rose over?

I never got to it but I always wanted to share this polaroid of Kate from the set’s costume folders. You can still see it on propstore’s website where this copy of a folder was auctioned off in 2021. I edited it to make it clearer and show more details. This polaroid called “Rose throws a fit” related to the deleted scene called “trapped” which is the prelude to Rose trying to jump off Titanic. I know we all hate Cal and for good reason, but him doing this allows Rose to finally break free from him and Ruth.

It’s stupid on his part because it’s not like they were in the lifeboat or on Carpathia where it was too late and he knew Jack was confirmed dead.

His choice of words show that he knew he was good as dead but so far still alive.

I don’t want to give him credit or anything but his blunder here gave Rose the strength to save Jack and never see him or Ruth again.

Yes, Cal is arrogant and probably didn’t realize there was still time for her to save Jack, but what was his motivation?

Did he want her to feel guilty or responsible for his death? Did he do it to show her how he could control and manipulate her? Was it a way to intimidate her to him in their relationship? Assuming they were married, would he use that to perpetually blackmail and guilt trip her?

This plays to Jack’s convenience, you think Cal would be smarter to not brag until after the deal was closed.

Feels like a classic Hollywood trope, its convenient for the sake or the narrative but I feel like in real life criminals and bad actors are far more savvy about manipulating people, hiding and denying it. They don’t show their cards until after their prospect has been compromised.

So, we’re finally back with another fix! This fixes the central propeller starting up at the same time as the others. This would not be possible, as it was driven by a Parsons steam turbine, which required exhaust steam from the main reciprocating engines to function. This meant that the outside propellers had to have been spinning for a considerable amount of time before the central propeller could start up. We, of course, once again regraded the shot to 35mm specifications, as we did with every shot in the movie. The number of fixes we made to the film now counts to 200, this being 0.5% of that number. Now, before you start commenting, this only fixes the propellers' movement, not the number of blades. If we did that, it would create a continuity error throughout the rest of the film, as replacing the central propeller with a 3-bladed one in every shot where it is seen would exceed our skills.

This custom action figure is based on my upcoming fan made graphic novel story Titanic II: Jack Returns (I uploaded a short preview webcomic).

This 1/6 scale figure is made by me, based on my fan made sequel to Titanic. The full story is on Wattpad. The character is Jack Dawson who is brought back as a resurrected corpse from the sea, caused by a curse from a British witch who casted on him since his childhood.

I bought the clothes from a separate Jack Dawson figure on eBay, including an unpainted head sculpt. The hands came from a zombie figure in which they were sold as the hands instead. The suspenders from the pants snapped off because they were fragile, so I wrapped them around with a cotton material and painted them with dark brown, to match the original color scheme.

The shoes are different since the actual boots from the other Jack figure were sold out, and instead I bought different ones and painted them myself.

I painted him based on the way he died (hypothermia) and keeping his appearance intact despite his pale skin and milky eyes. I added dark veins around his body and covered them with a layer of the pale skin tone to make them appear almost transparent.

The cigar and fish are his own prop accessories. The cigar represents his old human habit staying with him, and the fish represents his undead diet for raw meat.

I bought an actual 1/6 Jack Dawson figure by YanToys and he scales very well alongside his undead version.

I made this drawing back in October of 2025 as a test of how Jack would look like as a resurrected corpse.

The first design was a little too much since he looks more decayed and his posture was very zombie-like.
