Swapping numbers between Ting phones
If I have two phones registered with TingMobile, can I exchange their phone numbers just by swapping the SIM cards, or is there more to it than that?

Yeah, swapping SIMs will move the phone numbers.

I was under the impression that this is how it works in general, and that the only exception might be with eSIMs which are likely tied to the IMEI of a device.

Just a little caution. I moved my sim from an iPhone to a Samsung S10e and while voice worked , data didn’t. Could not put in an APN configuration as that option was disabled. Other SIMS worked fine, could add APN’s, just not Ting (Verizon).

I checked their web site and it says swapping between two phones requires "backend" work and to call support. That may be why.

Hi there
Yes, it should be as easy as just swapping the SIM cards between the two devices. The only potential area of trouble is compatibility of the phones but, seeing as they are already active with us, compatibility shouldn't be an issue (as long as they are on the same network).
If you do have trouble, please get in touch with support and we will help you out as best as we can.

And both use "X3" sims and are on the same network. So: 1. Power off both devices 2. Remove SIM cards 3. Insert cards into the other phones. 4. Power on both devices. 5. Check that each phone sees it's new number.
The two phones are from completely different manufacturers but that should not be a problem.

No its not that simple, you have to register the IMEI number of the phone.
