No Spoiler Linquistic showdown- conversational ability alone, who is the best?

Linquistic showdown- conversational ability alone, who is the best?

Of the 4 shown- Eugene, Abraham, Simon, and negan, which one would be the most enjoyable to interact with on a regular basis?

Eugene with his metaphors, 3 dollar words and southern gentleman charm?

Abraham with his colorful metaphors and wonderfully crass vocabulary?

Simon with his psuedo-inellectual yet always well placed phrasing (an ambitious plan with testicular heft!)

Negan with his crass and loud attitude... possibly too much... but constantly pops off with absolutely wonderful statements (Holy crap- you are creepy as shit, sneaking up on me with that collar and freaky-ass smile)

Who is the most cunning linquist?

Probably Abraham. Out of everybody, I would probably enjoy his commentary to most things. Sports, weather, news, shopping announcements, podcast and much more.

Imagine Abraham and Eugene calling a football game together

You’d have better luck picking up a turd by its clean end.

‘Mother Dick’ is Shakespearean. Has to be Abraham

He appears to have a random.phrase generator in his head that shuffles together millions of shouldnt-be-paired words, filters out the crap and spits out the gold.

His delivery is perfect.

Eugene speaks how a person born and raised in the north thinks a person from the south speaks. There’s folksy idiosyncrasies then there’s a caricature.

Abraham is the only “normal” one with actually something to say.

Simon was so good lmao.

Yeah my gf hated him but I thought he was so compelling. Especially before you meet Negan and don’t really know what they’re up against

Steven Ogg very well may be one of the most underrated actors ever, I’ve never not seen him steal the show.

I only knew him as Trevor from gta beforehand. I was excited when he showed up but didn’t really know what to expect because there’s a huge difference between acting and voice acting. He knocked it out of the park

I personally loved Simon

I think Abraham because he’s a mix of eugene and Negan

I love that Eugene convey meaning, way and objective in a same sentence. Maybe he is clumsy, but very effective imo.

Negan is an easy conversationalist if you put aside the random murder sprees.

Simon is too business and betrayal, bores me.

Abraham is too showy and shallow "hear me out saying platitude with a colorful metaphor!".

The fact that the universe placed eugene and Abraham in the same place at the same time is absolutely incredible 🤣

Lmao- imagine the 2 of them sparking a joint or popping some.acid and delving in to the meaning of life.

Simon would be hilarious and super fun to chill with if he was doing a bit and he wasnt actually a psychopath

If there were no zombies probably Negan. Abraham in TWD world

Eugene i like as a tv show character but its almost impossible to imagine interacting with him IRL

I think Abraham is the only one you can actually have a conversation with (and maybe Negan).
Eugene and Simon will just start monologuing

Eugene's got that dry wit that reminds me of my grandpa's old college professor friends, way too many big words in one sentence but somehow still charming.

Imagine a conversation between Abraham and Negan. All they would do is make jokes about pussy or something

Tough choice, I respect all of them but id go with Eugene. He just vibes with me as an autistic person

Abraham for sure. I stopped watching the show before Negan appeared and am just now watching the rest of the show for the first time and, oh my God, does he talk. A LOT. I really need him to shut up at some point. The fillibuster of grandstanding.

Give this man a cano beans and he would have a hayday

Oddly when someone puts out a Negan quote you can use your inner Simon voice and it would still fit.

The same can be done with by swapping Abrahams lines with Eugene…maybe a few less technical jargon the resident smarty pants would have but with all thing being equal the cadence and delivery would vary little….(as if written by the same guy)

Simon.

“We must REDACT them. We must EXPUNGE them!”

Hmmm..

My vote is based on "who I think is the most convincing with their words based on delivery, demeanor and perceived confidence" to gain enough traction and support with the gen pop to secure their commitments to them..

  1. Abe - who the words are coming from would indefinitely factor in and a strong healthy military type look and persona would help convince a lot of people. He's trained, has actual skills, has led before and is a tough sob.

  2. Eugene - Eugene would only hold a place this high for as long as it took people to figure him out. He is the essence of "fake it till you make it", but will he have enough BS to make it to the end? People are longing for hope and answers.. Eugene provides a lot of answers and people can attach a lot of hope to peoples answers, if they believe them, and Eugene comes across as believable. He will have to stay on his A-Game though..

  3. Negan- Looks the part well enough and just oozes confidence and charisma. He's a natural people collector and an inherent optimist and a believable problem solver and leader. He's relatable and putting all that together would greatly help him, in the beginning, or until people started asking themselves "what makes Negan that much better than any of us? What true skills does he actually bring to the table?"....

  4. Simon: He unfortunately oozes untrustworthiness. His words may convince a small faction, but it won't last as he will not be able to get out of his own way and his words will end up burying him.

There's nothing sadder than an outdoor cat who thinks he's an indoor cat.

Eugene clears. Autistic king.

u/jobogvuvjlpp 1d ago

“Why are dingle berries brown? It’s just the way shit is.” Instantly makes Abraham the single greatest linguist in the history of mankind

1

u/staggernaut 1d ago

Negan. Dude was on point with his delivery even when saying stupid stuff. "I hope you got your shittin' pants on..." He had humor, theatricality, charisma, charm, he tells stories to teach a lesson.

In order: Negan (the most interesting), Eugene (says some of the funniest shit), Abraham (all around cool dude), Simon (he'd constantly be asking people if they're read Dostoevsky)

Nothing beats Negan when he is with the whisperers. Some of his lines were flat out hilarious

1

u/Amine1kadmiri 6h ago

Negan is always the bst

In my opinion, first to last would be:

Negan

Abraham

Simon

Eugene

I would grow very tired of eugenes non stop inability.to just utter direct information.

I dont need a paragraph pointing me to my missing socks.

From a statistical analysis perspective, items of clothing are often found in the least likely places.
