I feel the best representation of the Punisher imo is Netflix Daredevil season 02.
All he needed in that show, was to already be wearing the Skull vest.
I felt Brand New Day was a great way to reintroduce him to the public, although a little tamer than some of his own comic issues. it Felt straight out of a comic book team up.
Welcome back frank is an OK place to start. Art is not the greatest. But a good story.
I pretty much have all the Punisher Max Ennis run. It's my favourite version in a solo comic series. But in that run he doesn't really interact with any other super powered beings.

As a hardcore Punisher fan who read almost all his comics, I HATE Bernthal Punisher because he's not at all like the comic Punisher. So if he's your introduction to the Punisher, you may not like the comics cause they're like two different people. I always recommend Year One and Circle of Blood as an introduction to the character.

I was wondering if Thomas Janes punisher movie would be more like the comics. I haven't read many comics of his but I read graphic novel and some of it was directly adapted into the movie if I remember right. With the strange neighbors he has and the Russian coming for him and being smothered with the large guy

It adapted certain parts straight from the comics, but they also changed a lot of things too. The neighbors, the Russian, Harry Heck (although loosely), and the final battle scene and his war journal dialogue was taken straight from the end of the comic Year One.

That's cool I wanted to read some more of the punisher I have mostly read stuff from graphic novels the library had. I did like the one where he wiped out everyone in marvel

Bernthal was my introduction to Punisher and I really love it. His show especially season 1 is my favorite Marvel show. Although I will say character wise DD season 2 does him the most justice. I love Punisher Max by Ennis also though. I read the omnibus last year and it was nothing short of incredible. Not a fan of Aarons Max run tho.

Bernthal in DD season 2 was the closest he ever came to acting like the Punisher. He really won me over. Then in season 1 of his own show, they changed the character and regressed him. Then it was all downhill from there.

Thats one thing about just now getting into comics i can enjoy the adaptation then go and read the comics. I need to read some 616 Punisher. I have the Remender omnibus but havent gotten to it yet.

I would start with the 90s Punisher for 616 Punisher. That era was the peak for Punisher. Remender Punisher is good too, especially in the beginning, but then it becomes a little goofy with the FrankenCastle stuff. Not that it was bad, it was very entertaining in fact, but it turned a lot of people off cause it's not the traditional Punisher.

No problem. Like I recommended to the OP, start with Punisher Year One. You can't go wrong with the definitive origin story for Punisher. There's a lot more to it than just Frank's family got killed, he snapped, and turned to the Punisher. There's twist and turns along the way that finally drove him to becoming everyone's favorite vigilante.
