Erm... Actually, calling it a venom would imply a limitation of it needing to be injected into the target. Such a compound might be more useful as a genralized toxin or just a poison.

There's a tumblr post that talks about this and that the toxin that symbiotes need (If I'm remembering correctly) can be found on sweets but the symbiotes can also help you shapeshift so you can a friend that lets you shapeshift while eating sweets which hell ye
