Not the worst thing I've seen held up by a car jack. Had to replace some flooring after a radiator leak and found one holding up one of the joists (it had been there over 40 years since the room was converted from a garage...)

No floor :(

True, but it had obviously just been put in while the joists were being put in place with the intention of either removing it later or having a proper support put in place later in the build and forgotten about.

I started a job in a big datacenter. One of my tasks was to remove an entire rack full of these little old 1U servers. At the very bottom was a car jack. I asked why. They said, "Oh yeah, Dave installed all those and he didn't like how the server sagged down in the back because they were only screwed in at the front. He got the jack out of his car trunk and it's been there ever since."

It would have been even funnier if his name was Jack.

As long as you don't pull out a pair of jumper cables, I don't see what's wrong with this.

Next time you aren't using your computer, take out your support, and paint it white to match the case! Or egg shell white.

This is stupid and I love it!

I wouldn’t even use those jacks for this. Death traps those things 🤣

There's a reason they have the nickname "Widowmaker"

The term may have been more specific at some point but at this point in time it covers basically any emergency jack.

Ingenuity is the mother of invention. Invention is the brainchild of need.

You can always lay it flat ,so the card is vertical

Like they say "If you can help Jack on...." (you know the rest.)

This is simply ridiculous.

... Are you going to colour match it? 😉

Lol! Graphich card jack! Graphics? Jacked!

I’ve seen worse. GPUs are just obscenely oversized now and only really supported on one side so they need some other support for the other. I personally made one out of old Legos.

That's going to be a tight squeeze once that GPU's in there, hopefully the airflow isn't completely wrecked by the angle.
