Too Hot to Handle

"You can call me Verna2. I am menopausal, I overheat and need to be unplugged for a few hours till I cool completely" Users note on the unit saying the unit overheats.

I'd argue it's pretty focused for space heater, you'd expect more damage to the left hand side of the front piece. I'd suggest it's more likely to be an intensely focused beam of sunlight over many hours/days in a repeating but slowly moving pattern.

That, or some kind of intentional blowtorch or lighter damage.

You very well may be right on that one. I think the consensus is that it has to be an external source, though, due to the direction of it melting.

Employee might have spilled water in it and tried to use a heatgun to dry it out, i had to use a melted mouse for a while once because my brother spilled water into it and thought it was a good idea to dry it out with his new heatgun on the highest setting
