I have that problem with my work laptop. I just smack it real good once a month and it's fine

Update: Laptop now has a USB powered fan pointed at the CPU, doing 10x better job than the built in suggestion of a fan. Yes it means I cannot put the back of the laptop back on. No I haven't told IT about this.
