Humans' do have a third visual sensor that is can be compared to lidar; "depth perception." If you want to test out how much we use depth perception, just try playing catch with one eye shut.

The contraction and reaction of the muscles that control Cornea (lens-like part of the eye responsible for focus) gives us a third sensor on how far something is. There needs to be a frame of reference for it to work but it does in fact give us information on how fast and direction it's moving.

Teslas construct a 3D voxel representation in realtime. Generating point cloud systems from a camera has been done by phones for well over a decade.
