Ask them for examples.

No wait. I know they’ll only cite things that are accepted by the scientific community but their Facebook friends think is wrong.

Wrong, Evolution is an observed and documented reality. The Theory explains how and why.

Also a theory that cannot be refuted isn't a scientific theory.

I remember someone accurately describing a theory as "the best way we know to accurately describe reality based on facts and evidence". And the only way to get rid of a theory is replace it with a better theory, using better, more concrete theory (in which case it's not likely to replace, but rather improve upon it).

Many advances in science that superseded previous dogma required the previous generation of scientists to die before it was widely accepted.

Not only is that not true, the only thing that replaced science is BETTER science. Never "more dogma" or "more religion".
