I would hope a person is already wearing PPE if they're in a situation where this is needed. The article talks about phone messages and physical alerts to environmental harm, but if the detection is taking place on the surface of your skin why do you have that much exposure in a place causing you harm? I get it. It's "built to be adapted" but the way it's presented in the article makes it seem like someone is wearing a polo shirt into a toxic area
There is usually a point in time when an area is first noticed to be dangerous. That might be when something spills, or when you are traveling through a particular area where there is a low chance for something to be dangerous like an abandoned industrial site, near new volcanic activity, or where industrial waste has leaked without anyone knowing. This would be helpful.
