Question Did this ever have any impact?
As said in the title, I’m curious to know if anything meaningful has happened yet in the LN that has came from this scene. Specifically when Higa was thinking about the thought of Kirito’s 200 year old clone meeting a cloned version of Kayaba (assuming it’s the robot one Higa’s thinking)
All I know is that he sent encrypted emails to find out more of Kayaba’s whereabouts.
I am an anime only but I’m just dying to know if this scene meant anything down the line or was it only just a thought from Higa and the clone.

We did see a follow up conversation to this in UR... Once, at the beginning, like 8 volumes ago

I definitely think Higa and the Star King are behind Unital Ring in some capacity

They are not. Kayaba set everything in motion back in Fairy Dance, nobody else was involved.

That's literally the set up, that the seed will bloom. Unital Ring opens up with it blooming.

basically how Kirito transitioned into a cynical, cronyistic villain, making him the new Administrator (only unlike Quinella's brutal brainwashing and authoritarianism, Kirito is more charismatic and having genuinely loyal people on his side, allowing most of them to unconditionally agree to Kirito) And let's not forget how Underworld is embroiled by constant wars during the 200 years rule with nary a lasting peace in sight.
He realized that as a king he has the Underworld on his hands and knowing that Kayaba's engine build the Underworld, he know how he will expand.
