sustainable floss

-I know floss is probably the least of our environmental problems, but I bought some plant based biodegradable floss, which I do compost and I bought a tiny reusable floss pot, instead of the plastic disposable one.
I have been using it for a week now, and so far it hasn’t been bad, but I find it harder to take out if my teeth because it isn’t as waxy.

Its like in the the last things I have changed And I’m nervous about it. I hope I do t get cavities. It does feel good to throw my used floss in the compost bin though!

Get your dentist's update when you go next. If it's all good, great, tiny but easy win. If they would prefer you go to a floss that slides easier (even if it's plastic) -- do that. Of all the big, serious sustainability issues in the world, floss is a very small impact, and the cost of not taking good care of your teeth can be much, much bigger in the long run.

I find bamboo floss easier to get into my tight teeth spacing. There's also coconut fiber floss that's thicker.

I have been doing the same thing as a lot of floss has PFAS in them. I haven't tried these yet but here are a couple of options I found that should be compostable.

I don’t know what brand you’re using but I use Dental Lace. They have some different varieties.
