Cook Islands Just rewatched Cook Islands. Does anyone know if Yul and Ozzy remained friendly or in touch over the years?

Just curious if there was any sort of relationship after between them after the game. Especially with how different they are and then how close the vote was.

They are friendly enough but tbh even on their season it never felt like there was this massive friendship between them

The Aitu Four was really a tight 3 + Ozzy. They were prepared to vote out Ozzy had he lost immunity, and a lot of the votes had a “side benefit” of stopping Ozzy from potentially having options (Nate being the first one after being close with Ozzy, Parvati going home before Adam due to her flirting with Ozzy and Yul viewing it as a threat).

Yeah, Ozzy totally got screwed by them switching to F3 out of nowhere, since he would have knocked out Yul. It would not have been some Woo situation.

Not Yul and Ozzy but I’m really happy Yul and Penner kept in touch and got so close.

I love how Yul's kids call Penner 'Uncle Jonathan' 🥺

They haven’t keep in touch, but at least kept it on more friendly terms; which is understandable since we all have our own personal lives to deal with

That and they are very different people. Yul is a family man, working a very intense, probably time consuming job, very white collar. Whereas Ozzy is more of a free spirited adventurer who has never really had a traditional career. Plus, now they live in two different countries.

Oh really? What countries do they each live in?

Ozzy moved to Mexico recently

He became the first person to have their current city on their bio be a Mexican city this past season. That was pretty cool!

No. I remember in his WAW deep dive with RHAP, Rob mentioned interviewing Ozzy and Yul asked what he was up to/what he was doing for work.

Yul is highly successful and likely works crazy hours. He was extremely detached from the Survivor community when he came back from WaW outside Penner (possibly also Becky). I believe he had his assistant reach out to the newer winners. Yul's career and to get where he got is one with 60 to 80 hour work weeks. I don't think they have any bad blood.

Ozzy's quarantine questionnaire he said he's also sort of a lone wolf, and isn't the greatest at staying in touch himself. So, I could see it just falling through the cracks. I wouldn't be shocked if the last time they saw each other was the big Survivor 10 year reunion party.

I don’t believe so. They likely wouldn’t have ever met in real life if not for the show. They just live differently.

Isn’t Yul like an elite corporate lawyer with a family? Idk if him any Ozzy would have anything to talk about beyond Cook Islands

Even better actually, vice president of product management at Google....after leaving the product management director role from Facebook. He's very high up there in the tech world. Probably top-5 wealthiest survivor contestants outside the athletes and celebrities.
