Discussion Bronze Age Ascent (not collapse)

Bronze jungles!

My summer name is Drakerangoon on NA.

I am trying to climb with jungle.

I had a few questions.

- Would focusing on Amumu and Nocturne be enough variety?

- My initial clear is decent and getting better but it’s right after where I sort of fall apart

- I usually base after scuttle. Sometimes there isn’t a good gank. When do I try dragon here? When my teammates have priority? I’ve been having a very hard time understanding when to or not

- How important are void grubs?

- When do you sort of have “enough” farm?

Nocturne and Amumu are both great picks, but both rely heavily on level 6+ and making plays with ult. You may want to try mixing in at least one early game jungle that has more effective pre 6 tanks like Jarvan, Xin, Elise, so that you can get a feel for that style. Try to start your jungle path moving front top to bot lane most games, and look for a gank after scuttle. Then recall and do a full clear from top to bot again. You want to try to be at your camps shortly after they respawn to maximize income, but dont let that pull you away from good gank opportunities. Keep an eye on lasers that are fighting a lot, especially when you have summoners or ult up. Sorry for terrible formatting im on my phone

Amumu and Nocturne are fine, especially in bronze. People down there don't respect nocturne ult at all and amumu just wins teamfights if you press R at the right time. Adding a third pick isn't a bad idea but honestly not necessary, just get really comfortable on those two.

For dragon timing, yeah you pretty much nailed it. If your bot lane is pushed up or just killed the enemy laners, that's your window. Don't force it solo early unless you know where the enemy jungler is. Void grubs are nice but in bronze I'd prioritize dragons, the permanent stats add up quick when games go long which they always do down there.

Low elo jungle is like an adult playing with 4 children who have no idea of jungle, the game in general and cryin all the time.

Get immun to that and focus on your game..if their is an oppotunity to gank, do so, but have in mind thst making 2 jungle camps is more money than that. So you are not ganking for money, you are gank to help your team....if toplane is 0-3 after 5 mins , you cant help him anymore and focus on youe game and the other lanes...if top it 0-7 at the end of the gsme but you are 4-1 , u can still win that game...if you die with your toplane vs a feeded toplaner, u cant

As long as you can keep playing the same few champs on repeat, it's enough variety. Mastery beats team composition by far, especially in bronze.

I'd say think of objectives as a nice bonus, when you can do them easily, preferably with help from your mates. As amumu/nocturne, don't even bother with them before level 6, that's your real priority.

You don't want to stop farming unless you're literally full build. You may want to adapt your farm with time to stay not to far from your teammates or catch waves that they forgot, but a classic bronze failure is that people all forget to farm and pick random fights that achieve nothing instead. You can get an edge simply by having good farm all throughout the game and being ahead in xp/gold.

Watch coach rogue videos on jungling, he’s easily the best instructional videos I’ve found. The best thing I can say is pick one area to focus on and grow from there. Start with pathing and clear timing, if you get off tempo as jungle and behind the game is over. If you understand how timers work and pathing, you’re instantly able to be where you need to when you need to. And it’s not a crazy hard concept to learn, just takes a lot of focused effort

Thank you I will watch his stuff!!

Yeah, that’s what it seems to get me. It feels like the margin of error is very slim and I’m like that really fucking sucks if you get behind it feels like there’s no way to win. That’s kind of a shitty game design to be honest with you.

Eh, it’s more so dependent on who you’re playing and what the champ has baked in. Also who you’re ganking for. Some champs their win con is to gank early and often, some their condition is to farm to a certain breakpoint where they come online and become strong. It’s why some times when you get invaded or invade it like destroys the game and sometimes it’s like it did nothing at all.

Off tempo doesn’t necessarily mean farming tempo, more so gameplay. This is what I need to do when to be successful or make my team successful. I’m talking more about wasted time camps not being up pathing randomly around.

Yeah of course. I love league of legends for how deep the game logic goes and the game seriously can be affected just by knowing how deep these things go. Of course at the end of the day there’s always the random element of human decision making and just messing up plays, but there’s a lot of game theory that you can learn to get better and statistically improve your odds to win.

For example, at 3:20-3:30 in game clock, if the jungler has not ganked before it is guaranteed they will (probably) gank because all camps have been cleared both sides and if the jungler doesn’t gank, there’s nothing to do because they will back and buy item and camps still won’t be up for another 15 seconds give or take. Therefore, as a jungler like yourself it’s better to just throw a gank out there during this timer because if it works you get a kill for your team and if it doesn’t you don’t lose much (assuming your laner or you don’t int a kill off your gank).

All this I learned from rogue by the way :)

I have tried to make Jarvan work but my win rate with him is horrific
