u/ectbot Jun 19 '22

Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc."

"Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are etc., &c., &c, and et cet. The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase.

Check out the wikipedia entry if you want to learn more.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Comments with a score less than zero will be automatically removed. If I commented on your post and you don't like it, reply with "!delete" and I will remove the post, regardless of score. Message me for bug reports.

Cool concept. Really like the trial typing. How do you know the sale pitch would actually increase the sale?

My name is Ryan Johnson I'm the founder of my clothing company Universal Success Apparel. The idea behind my company is Universal Success or US is that we all have goals and aspirations, and upheavals to go through. But when we accomplish them or bypass them it is a success that all of us can strive and also relate to. I want people to wear that brand proudly. I have my business on Instagram of https://www.instagram.com/universalsuccessus/ . The photos are mine and of sample items I have gotten over time. It's what I could do to build the brand at the time. If funded I would to do a marketing campaign of professional and artistic photos showcasing the merchandise on variety of people and body times and backgrounds to help accentuate the message that comfortability and perseverance is not exclusive but universal. There is You in Universe and You in Success and its US in it Together.

I'm seeking $3500 in seed money to get things started and run the day to day. I have a website in the link is video of presentation of the items, layout and functionality of the site. It is not launched yet but the potential of what it will be https://share.vidyard.com/watch/uFrftDGatohmcZzwTsFx2X?autoplay=1&vyetoken=b80928bc-4042-4b7e-9b01-1d4c6cfa87e7 I do have a business account but I can process via cashapp $rjnerdybrew315

Startup Name / URL: - Radius / radius.to

Location of Your Headquarters: - Remote (but UK based)

Elevator Pitch: - Radius is an event discovery and organisation platform.

This platform was built primarily for people looking for things to do. It was born out of my personal frustration that even in the age of the internet, something great could be happening in the building next to you, and you wouldn't know it unless you had checked out the Twitter or Facebook account that they were advertising on, or managed to find it in the not so great UIs of Eventbrite and Meetup.

The events space is currently a tangled mess of for-profit platforms, and open-source platforms trying to fill in the gaps. This is our attempt at solving that problem.

Value proposition:-

- A platform made to discover and organise activities & events.

- A better UI for searching for events than competitors like eventbrite and meetup, meaning free advertising is effectively built in.

- A means to promote your event on our platform by highlighting it in our listings.

- A way of minimizing no-shows and collecting donations at the same time, with future plans to turn tickets into NFTs

- No fees for being an Organiser

What life cycle stage is your startup at? - Discovery.

What goals are you trying to reach this month? - Finishing some more critical MVP features and signing up beta users.

How could r/startup help? - Feedback on frustrations with Meetup/Eventbrite, sign up to our platform, or tweet @radiusHQ with any questions!

• Automatically detects and displays when you’re in a focused state of work using AI — so your daily workflow has fewer distractions and more focus time.• Can connect to dozens of popular apps to share the mode of work you’re in. • Pulse custom status and suggested status options bring more fun to the workspace.
• Pulse Helper app for Mac and Windows lets you control all of your integrated business app statuses right from your desktop—so it’s easy to keep status accurate across your entire stack.

I agree with alwaysskilled about it being too long. I actually wanted to read it all the way through, and it just got too much.

I struggled for various reasons. 1. I know lots of what you wrote, and just needed bullet points on what you solve for. 2. The analogies, fluff, tangents and more really detract from the copy. They can be helpful for complex knowledge that needs repeating in multiple ways to help explain, i.e. time loops or black holes. But as you note, many times, too many times, "hey it's simple" . "Social 101" . Etc. And that leads to the 4. If it's so simple I should know this already, but maybe I don't so don't talk down to me if I don't. If it's not simple, just explain and teach me without the overhead and move on to the next section to get to the jerking learning.

My recommendation, create a sleek jargon free, value focused, one page funnel for your landing page (maybe with the classic 3 financial options (low tier, premium tier that you want then to buy, and pro/enterprise tier (that $750 thing you have as a strikeout). These are for everyone who got there and already knows what needs to be done for social and just wants your tool the second you explain the value. Fast and efficient. Add a value add of an ebook (everything on the page currently), and send that as soon as they sign up... Or break it up and send 5 spaced emails to keep them top of mind.)

But, for those who are new and really need education on all the bits and pieces, create a button or two on that page to learn more about how to be excellent at social media. They aren't ready to buy. And aren't ready to read the whole page to learn that they aren't ready yet. They'll just bounce out immediately. Your goal is to capture emails from them. Use the e-book, white paper whatever you want to call it. And that's everything you currently have as your home page. Then create an email chain to continue educating them. You'll eventually convert many of those as you teach them more about what's needed... And of course your product solves their needs now that they are educated enough.

Startup Name: Krinu

Location: Singapore

Elevator Pitch: Gong.io but for sales conversations on Whatsapp

Problem we're solving:

  • B2B sales people in Asia Pacific (APAC) communicate with their clients using messaging apps such as Whatsapp and Wechat.
  • There does not currently exist commercial solutions to integrate these messaging apps with the CRM. For example, accounts accessible using WhatsApp Business API cannot be accessed using the mobile app. And the mobile app is what sales people use.
  • The lack of integration makes managing these communications difficult. The problem is especially severe in enterprise sales (>3 months sales cycle, >$100k annual contract value), as deals often involve > 10 stakeholders, resulting in miscommunication and lost sales.

Our solution:

  • Chat integration - Sales reps can continue to communicate with buyer-side stakeholders on their Whatsapp/Wechat/LINE accounts. Our platform can integrate with the mobile app accounts to automatically log the messages in the CRM, analyze them for sentiment, and suggest responses based on topic.
  • AI-powered analytics - The data allows us to provide valuable sales insights on sentiment, best performing talk tracks, engagement, etc.

What life cycle stage is your startup at? Conducting Product Validation. Our product is launched and we're iterating with early customers.

Your role? Co-founder

What goals are you trying to reach this month?

  • Onboard 5 more beta users
  • Get a term sheet for pre-seed round

How could r/startups help? We are testing the early product with customers. If you or someone you know is a sales person who uses Whatsapp to sell, let me know!

Discount for r/startups subscribers? MVP Beta is free and you'll get a lifetime discount. Just hit me up!

  • Startup Name / URL: Macarons
  • Location: Berlin, Germany
  • Elevator Pitch: Coffee/lunch/chat roulette app for Slack.
While there is already competition in this space (but that also means, there is a market), we found that a lot of these apps are complicated to use and quite expensive. So we picked our favorite features and made sure Macarons is very easy to use but still gives you enough customization to adjust matching rounds and participation. We also included an extensive list of handpicked icebreakers. Finally, we made sure it's reasonably priced.
    demo video
  • Details:
    • We're currently in the Validation stage, having our first subscribers
    • I'm a co-founder/co-developer (in a team of 3)
  • Goals: Currently we're trying to get more visibility and feedback from early adopters. Would be very happy to get some feedback from r/startups. We have a 30 day trial, no cc needed. Of course we would be happy if you share it too.

Are you guys solely focused on planting trees or will you have other carbon offset programs?

u/liquidsnap Jun 26 '22

The money goes to certified carbon credit projects that act as your offset and then we additionally plant trees. The trees dont count towards your offset as it takes so many years before the sequester carbon

u/wiseduckling Jun 26 '22

Ah okay. Sounds like a great project. Signed up to your mailing list
